210 in South Africa?

In last weeks sports illustrated magazine I read about how the construction of satdiums, trains, and the venue as a whole is behind schedule.  They then continued to write "Nothing is certain, but rumors persist that FIFA, worried about the pace of construction, may push South Africa back to 2014.  If this happens, the 2010 Cup could either return to Germany- or go to Australia or the United States, which hosted the best attended Cup ever in 1994"

with 2004 olympics i think the greeks were still finishing it as the opening ceremony was going on! as long as it's not the same contracters as wembley, hopefully it'd be cool :P

It won't go back to germany that's for sure
But I think that South Africa can handle this
I suggest that Holland host it if it doesn't work out ;) but I don't think that's gonna happen

OMG if they movemit somewhere I think they should move it to USA to make soccer more popular here! That would be so cool but I dont think that it will happen.

There have been rumors about the world cup being hosted elsewhere, but not only because the stadiums might not be finished in time.  The thing is, SA has to be ready to host an event of this magnitude.  Their entire infrastructure doesn't seem capable of handling that responsibility.  There are so many people from all over the world that attend the world cup and so you need to make sure that things such as transportation and accommodations are efficient. Basically, SA is definitely not ready for this, but they will probably host it anyway.

If they don't end up hosting it, it will either go to USA or Germany.  It doesn't matter what you want or which country you think should host it.  If SA can't host it and the wc needs to be hosted somewhere else, then FIFA will either go with USA because they are capable of handling that sort of event regardless of how much time they have to prepare.  Or, Germany will host it again because they just hosted it and it would be relatively easy for them to do it again.

Regardless of where the world cup is hosted, I'm definitely gonna go and support les bleus.  :)

lol, don't get your hopes up.  I think there's a 90% that's going to happen in SA.  FIFA, for some reason, is really dedicated to making this work.

I think that it could be a great tournament.  The only two things that worry me are the infrastructure and the weather.
