It doesn't mean just because he left school he was lazy, he probably was too focused on football to do school work, if he was lazy he wouldn't have worked so hard to become the player he is today.

I read he was a smart kid but was too focused on football and that was his dream from a very young age, to become a footballer, so didn't put the effort in school he probably would have.

So it all worked out well in the end.  ;)

But choosing the path to be a footballer over school/college/uni doesn't work out for everyone.

I think he just wasn't academic. I know he said Science was his favourite subject, but he was way more focused on football. I wouldn't say he was lazy or stupid, I think education just wasn't for him, as is the case for other people too, and he knew football was what he always wanted. :)

I think his decision to skip school and focus on football has turned out alright for him!  :)  If he wants to continue his studies, I'm willing to be his personal tutor.  ;)

It desnt Matter how qualified he is in his academics, he is known for his football skills, he focused on his play, & decided to take it as a career, so we should learn from him to be focused about our dream & g for it,  Cheers fr u Cris!.

I think he isn't really silly^^ I mean, he speaks Portuguese and English.. And (I think so óÔ) a bit spanish... and he had to learn so many rules ;) and the strategy (? ;) sry, my english isnt very good^^) isn't easy ;)
(I play football too and sometimes It's a bit complicate ;))
So, he wanted to play football^^ Because of that he left school at the age of 12 :D

He moved to Lisbon at the age of 12, but went to school there too, he went til he was 16, normal age to quit scool for many young people ;)

And in one of his school reporst he had 15 in portuguese, 10 in maths, 6 in English and 13, 8 and 8 in different science subjects...

certainly not dumb, but clever enough to put al his effort in football...

Maybe when he finishes his career he might feel the need to  study again like other footballers do...Nuno Gomes, João Moutinho and Veloso went back to their studies now :) And that's a huge example for people who fear it might be too late to get a better education.

Vitor Baia decided to study again (University) and he is the best sudent of his class! ;D

VB will be the future President of Porto ;D And He usually pays the fotocopies for the entire class!

I believe they are more demanding in youth academies now, the kids need to have good scoes if they want to play.. Cristiano should apply for NOVAS OPORTUNIDADES! If I was the Minister I would so want to get him!

What is it they say in Portugal? Something about playing being done in Lisbon and the real work being done in Porto? ::lol::

Dang, think if I study in Portugal I can get a famous footballer to pay for all my copies? ;D Totally wouldn't mind Veloso in a class ::) ::lol::
