They fucked up Hades so bad.

I hate how they always portray him as some greedy satanic man who is power hungry and always wants to topple down Zeus and Posieden.

I recently watched Sherlock Holmes, New York, I love you and Avatar

I really liked Sherlock Holmes, I thought Robert Downey Jr. was amazing (and isn't he so much hotter than Jude Law). I wasn't so sure about it while watching the film but ATTENTION SPOILERS!!!but I thought it was really brilliant how in the end everything turned out to be logical and explainable. No magic, just tricks based on people's fear.

New York, I love you was quite good as well. What I just don't understand about movies that are supposed declarations of love to certain cities (Paris, je t'aime is another one) is that you don't actually see much of the city - or not many things that are typical for that city - in the films. Most of the stories could have taken place in any big city.

As for Avatar, well, I don't get what the fuss is about. I didn't want to watch it because I hate everything science fiction/fantasy/etc. But I kept hearing how brilliant it was, so I went to watch it and, honestly, I wish I wouldn't have. The whole plot was foreseeable. I almost fell asleep.

Omg I know!! That's what I loved about it--how SMART the plot was, and even though you were like wtf during the film when Holmes would pick at the little random facts, it all just tied up at the end. Fantastic. Oh, and I loved Rachel McAdams in it too.

I still haven't seen Avatar, and I really want to see it in 3D before it leaves the cinemas. And I wanna see Valentine's Day, that looks cute.

My housemates who love the whole chickflick thing, say Valentines Day is shit.

I loved Sherlock Holmes, I've always had a thing for RDJ but I admit my crush on Jude Law came creeping back when I saw it. ::lol:: And you can tell it was directed by Guy Richie, one of my FAVOURITE directors.  Brilliant.

^ I love anything Richie does.

I really want to go and see Shutter Island. Has anyone seen it, and if so, do you recommend it?

Good movie. So much suspense I thought my heart might give out before it ended ::lol:: (I'm a super-giant wuss ;D)

Sad ending though when he can't help that man.

I've watched "it's complicated" and "the lovely bones" at the cinema lately. both movies are great. "it's complicated" was so funny, I had to laugh really much. "the lovely bones" had been picturised good imo. it was beautiful but also pretty sad.

I hated the ending of "It's Complicaed". Totally ruined the movie imo. As for The Lovely Bones, visually it was beautiful if not a bit over the top, but I wasn't satisfied with that ending either....it just felt incomplete, I expected more closure.

I just came back from watching "Alice in Wonderland" in 3D. It was a good movie, and the film is very much a Burton film. The color palette was beautiful, the music was very complimentary to the film, and the story very fun. It was better than I had anticipated, since, to be quite honest, I wasn't that excited for it. Seeing it 3D was fun, but I don't think it compliments the film in the same way 3D did for "Up" or "Coraline".

I went to go see it Friday, I enjoyed it. You could tell it was a Burton film one she fell down the rabbit hole. ::lol::

It was very vibrant, I have to agree, the use of color was very nice. I liked all of her different costumes, and both the red queen and the white queen cracked me up. As did Tweedle-de and Tweedle-dum, and of course the Mad hatter. Though my friend didn't like the fact that he was a main character along side Alice. But I told her Tim burton owns Johnny Depp's soul. j/k!

But I mean c'mon it's Johnny Depp. Of course he's going to have a lead roll.

I saw "Alice In Wonderland" last night. I didn't watch it in 3D but the graphics were still amazing. The acting was good -- Johhny Depp was brilliant as usual -- but Anne Hathaway's and Mia Wasikowska's accents got a bit annoying. Overall it was a pretty good film. Not amazing, but good. It was entertaining to watch and visually beautiful.

Ahhh I don't know if Depp really was as big as people are exaggerating it to be. I thought he was the appropriate amount as Alice's motivation to keep doing something in Wonderland, instead if just sitting around waiting to "wake up". It reminded me a bit of Dorthy's relationship with the Scarecrow from "The Wizard of Oz".
Like most of Burton's past works, I loved the music a lot. I can't wait to get the soundtrack.
