I'm a massive Depp fan, the man can do no wrong in my eyes, so I'm being a little bias. ;D

LOL Same here. I thought he was as brilliant as I have always remembered him to be. I just meant, some fans are griping that Depp's role as the Mad Hatter was made bigger because Burton and Depp are collaborators, and it made the film less authentic to the Alice fandom. I didn't think it was like that though, like I said, I thought his role was the appropriate amount.

Ohh! Yes yes I agree. I'm not really into the Alice fandom -- it was never one of my favourite films as a kid -- but I don't think his role was overdone at all. He portrayed the Mad Hatter wonderfully, he didn't over do it, and he had a good amount of screen time. What did you think of Anne's role? It was strange to see her in a cast that was so eccentric but I think she was great. :D I love her, and this should really boost her career.

I was never really into the fandom either. I can't recall watching the animated Disney version very much, just parts of it. Overall, through all of it's adaptation and constant staples in pop culture, I was never too much into it.
I thought Anne did a good job in the film. She was funny and lovely, I liked her character. I can't say that there was any character I didn't like from the film.

I'm scared to watch it.  I love the Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass story, and I enjoyed the Disney version... I hope this film doesn't ruin it for me.  Can someone tell me what the Cheshire Cat was like? ;D

Dear John was the biggest waste of time and money. Seriously, what the hell? And the ending! That was the worst ending I've ever seen!

It looks sooo corny but damn Channing is hot in uniform.  I bet I can predict the entire story just from watching the trailer.  The book is supposed to be good though.

Channing's scenes were the only good parts. Mmm most of the movie is in the trailer but not all of it...it's a bit unexpected, but not in a good way.

Nicholas Sparks' books don't interest me. ::lol:: I always find them to generally made of the same sap. I think he's a good writer since his writing style makes it easy for the reader to get through the book, but plotwise, it's always some sapfest. My sister LOVES his books, however.

Alice in Wonderland wasn't as good as I thought it would be.  Firstly, the acting was so dry by the girl who played Alice, and why did she look all sickly and dying?  Tim should have stuck to the original story, and kept Alice as a young girl.  Wonderland, or 'Underland', lacked all sense of magic, and some of the other main characters seemed way too rushed and underdeveloped.  I have to say, it's not as good as the animated version.  In fact, if you want to experience Alice at its best, stick to the book.  Disappointing to say the least.

There were some good things about it though.  Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat was perfection, and we all got laughs seeing Matt Lucas as the Tweedle's.  Other than that, it really didn't do anything for me, which is such a shame... it had so much potential.

The Cheshire Cat was really cute, it reminded me of my cat.

The girl who played Alice looked sort of....ugly. I'm generally not a fan of dark brown eyes with light blonde hair. And her paleness made her look even more freakishly.
