No, I understand what you mean. But there are people in here who are most likely to vote for Ronaldo just because its Ronaldo rather than actually look at the skill (which in my opinion, would make it like a coin toss because both are amazing players).

I think Lionel Messi is a better player as of this season but if I could pick Messi of this season vs. Ronaldo of last season, I'd definately pick Ronaldo just because his game had so much diversity and was attacking from all ends out.

Well, judging from the game tonight, Messi wins by a country mile.

Hmmm. Not really as clear. Barca as a whole team played way better than United. But Ronaldo was threatening the first 15 minutes or so.

I thought Messi was brilliant. United had the upper hand for the first 10 - 15 minutes, I thought. And yes, Ronaldo did well during that period, but that's not enough. After that, Barca dominated and Messi really showed his class when it truly mattered.

Fair enough. But Barca clearly outplayed United and Messi didn't do that single handedly. Tonight wasn't United's night but had our midfield been as strong as we had against Arsenal, Ronaldo would have ripped their defense to shreds. The true weakness for us was (I believe) our midfield which was ironically, their strength.
