Part 6

For years I was asking myself what men are carrying around in their attaché case. Files? They?re in the office, aren?t they? Or is it only  news paper?

Since I?m pregnant I also want to take a look into the big bags of young mothers at the play ground.

Astonishing: they?re still answering the question; ?Mommy, I?m so thirsty.? With a; ?Sweetie, I don?t have anything here. We?re home very soon.?

So what are they carrying around? My friend with two kids says it?s ?blind actionism? before she leaves the house.

?I pack everything what we have and what we could need. Second pair of pans, swimmies, drawing book, toy phone, apple slices, and easily forget wet wipe. That can be dramatic.?

The next day she realized that she forgot the second pair of pants when she pulled her son out of a puddle but could at least offer him a drawing book to make him feel better.

I won?t join this equipement-mania. As a mother I want to be like the Mayas. Uncomplicated, without a baby carriage, without enourmos bags. Babies are carried in big scarf kind of thing around the upper body. They?re peaceful because they?re feeling close to their mom.

?Uh, bull crap, they?re getting gagged that?s why they?re so quiet,? my sister says when I tell her about those plans.

Last Saturday I dared to visit a baby outfitter to get some infos.

The monster diaper bag scared me. That?s sort of what happened in the baby carriage department.

The shopkeeper showed me about fifteen models ? every detail; ?You pull here, put that down, you can fold in the wheels. This is for the feet.?

That was too much for me. And I was shocked that those carriages cost more than my first ?used? car. Since then everytime I see a baby carriage in the streets I don?t tilt my head to the side and take a delighted look into the carriage. No! I immediately look for the label, check the wheels, guess the price and want to congratulate the mother for being able to know how that thing works.

Probably I?ll also sit at the playground with all the equipement only cause I?m proud of the pro-kids stuff I own. That?s probably the secret of the attaché case: you just love to take it for a walk.

love the update tash thanks for writing it love you and she such a caring mother looking after her kid with all the stuff she brings.

The part when she looks for a buggy is sad as not all mothers can afford a new buggy as its expensive but glad she could hold her head high and not let it eat her away.

great update hun
yeah, most women just spend a fortune for stuff that can only use for a few months, or worse, weeks
and you're right! they carry all those huge bags filled with anything but what the kids really need  ::lol::
some (especially celebs) are just doing some sort of competition... whose bag costs more and stuff like that... and the poor kids cry of hunger  ::lol::
I'm laughing, but it's sad
bump soon hun, I truly love this!

Part 7

Recently at the bakery.

?For you this hot weather must be especially hard,? a sympathetic woman said to me.

?Uh, it?s alright. I?m not that sensitive in this case,? I answered and smiled and felt kinda happy that a stranger with sympathy and interest talks to me. Last time anything like that has happened was eight years ago when I got lost in the shopping center.

?Well, no it won?t take long anymore,? she cheered me up.

?Erm?it will?full three months,? I answered.

?What?! Crazy! That?s a huge belly! It?s monstrous! Already this big!? that horrible person yelled through the whole store. Nine pairs of eyes were watching me and all I wanted to do in that moment ? like ages ago in the shopping center ? was starting to cry.

One really important lesson for everyone: ?Please, never comment the belly of a pregnant woman ? no matter if you think it exceptional big or small.

The last point is even worse by the way: in that case we think something?s wrong wit the growth of the baby.

And please cross from the list: ?Maybe there are two in here, hehe!?

Our belly is holy even if we made loads of strange jokes in our earlier lives: we do not understand those kind of jokes anymore.

The only phrase that people are allowed to say to us is: ?What a beautiful belly! Looks amazing!?

Even if it?s a simple lie. It makes us happy and we get a good feeling which is good for the baby. So we don?t have to ponder if everything?s alright.

And dear stranger from the bakery: I actually already noticed that my belly is rather big. To be exact I get up in the morning and stand in front of the mirror for hours and waste huge amounts of expensive lotions for my belly.

Then I think: how can my boyfriend be in love with a walrus like this?

He shows me every day that he really still loves me.

He realized what?s important: first he?s really good at tying my sneakers. Before he does that he tells me ? although I didn?t ask him to ? which shoes I?ve put on and if the right one matches the left one ? because I can?t see my feet anymore. Second when he parks the car he leaves enough space t the car next to ours even if he?s not got enough to get out of the car. third, he never asked me if I gained some weight. Fourth, he always wants to go swimming with me. Because he knows how light and happy we feel in the water ? we walruses.

Loved it! What a crazy woman! ::lol:: I would have punched her then and there! ::lol::
Like having to deal with that huge every single day is not enough... they have to say every time they see you. Idiots!
Wow, her boyfriend is nice. It shows that he loves both her and the baby. Not everyday you see a guy doing all that without complaining.
Did I ever tell you how much I love this story? If I did, I'll repeat myself. If I didn't, shame on me. I love it! It's the most original fic I've ever read. Everything you write here is completely true. It shows us that part of our lives that nobody talks about. Everybody says that pregnancy is like a walk in the park, but it's not.
Bump soon hun!

Oh I know. Why write if no comments? It would mean nobody likes the story and you're writing it for nothing. But that is not a problem in your case.
Really hard to find ::lol::
I don't know why I'm laughing though... it's anything but funny ::lol::
