Oh no Lia, it's personal preference but to me I think I end up looking ghetto with only eyeliner. And for me when it starts to leak and stain makes me look even worse.

^^ yeah, well my eyes are just set back pretty far and I have hazel eyes so eyeliner without eye shadow make them look like a dark muddy brown which just isn't the prettiest color ::lol::

well Lia, Im a HUGE fan of physician's formula which I was talking about earlier on here.  they have a translucent powder, it doesnt tint but has some light refracting so it almost works like a bronzer...ish.  I really loved it when I used it in the winter.  I'll have to get some more!

http://www.physiciansformula.com/en-us/productdetail/face/pressed-powder/03528.html
(they show it in bronzer, but the drop down menu has translucent pearl)

they also have this which really is a finishing veil... probably works better than the pressed powder... I never use foundation so the pressed powder was perfect for me. I've never used this stuff but anything I've gotten from physicians formula has been great.

So....I went to Sephora today................. T_________T I am poor again. I bought like $80 worth of merch!!! Granted, some of it was for Pua (LOL she and I send gifts to each other), but the most expensive products? Brushes. I'll show you guys when I have more time.

Oooh I love brushes!! At least you have $80 to spend Chee, I don't even have $50 atm. ::lol::

Thanks for that Krista! I haven't heard of that brand so I'm not sure whether we have it in Australia or not...but I will ask around!

Ulgh, I really shouldn't have but I couldn't help myself. To be fair.......I got my nieces and little sister clothes from Old Navy and the Disney Store afterward!!! They had some stellar sales, but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised since school is starting. I got such a cute jacket for one of my nieces (I got her a buttload of clothes since her birthday is next week) for $8!! I wanted to get one for my sister too but they didn't have any in her size in a different print, and I didn't want them to come off "matchy matchy".

But anyway, like seriously, no makeup at all, just materials for makeup that I got at Sephora.

I wanted to get the Tokidoki Kabuki Brush but decided against it. T__T I kind of regret it because it was only a few bucks more expensive than the Sephora Kabuki Brush (and the Sephora one doesn't look HALF as cute). I was also kind of afraid that the brush would be crappy, since I wanted a kabuki brush for my finishing powder, but ULGH from the majority of the reviews I've read, it's a great brush. T___T

Instead I got the Sephora Kabuki Brush. Mixed reviews so far......and though it's cheaper than the Tokidoki brand, it was still expensive as EFF. LOL it was like four dollars US cheaper, I'm not the greatest bargain shopper I know. I haven't used any of the brushes yet, but I hope it will be good....I'll give a review once I do use it.

And the big thing I splurged on?

Tokidoki Puttitura Brush Set!!!! They're so cute!!! I just had to get them!! Now that I think about it, it's more aesthetically pleasing than functional (reviewers complain you can't put the brushes in stands since the bottoms are cute and can't fit with regular brushes but I mean, DUH put the brushes in a makeup bag). The quality of the brushes have been mixed, but I am hoping they are good. And besides, all three brushes are cheaper each than the ONE kabuki brush so....bargain? ::lol::

To top it all off, I got a bottle of Sephora's Brush Cleaner Spray. I got the smaller bottle since I don't wear makeup very often. I'm so excited to use it!

I'll be back with actual reviews of the brushes once I use them. ::lol::

Oh Krista, I keep forgetting to say, when I go to the store, I want to get Physicians Formula's concealers but I never know which would be the best one because they have a pretty wide selection. I will really look into them the next time I have time to browse around at Target or Wal-Mart.

Okay, so today I tried out the new stuff I got. I love the kabuki brush!!!!! I read a long time ago that when you get a new brush, always brush it back and forth on a clean palm a few times first. It will likely have loose hairs, but generally they will go away. I had a couple loose hairs on a kabuki brush when I was brushing it on my palm, but it was soft and the finishing powder went on great when I used it on my face.

I LOVE the Tokidoki brushes!!!! They're super soft and work really well!! I need to buy a makeup bag for my brushes now since I can't put them on stands. I put all my makeup in a small Hello Kitty basket. It's too small now. ::lol:: Everything is spilling out.

And most of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the brush cleaner!!!!! It was so easy to clean the crease and eyeshadow brushes!! Like I feared, it took awhile for me to clean the liner brush and my foundation brush though. I must go buy the bigger bottle of brush cleaner when I get the chance. ::lol::

I'm going to get my hair cut later this week and maybe this weekend I will finally get to review Prettia's foam hair dye!!

Mac mineralize skinfinsh natural powders are great imo

they are good on top of foundation and just as good by themselves (if i'm going for a more natural look - or am laying off the makeup for my skin sake.

Oh really Pragya? I've heard so many good things about Bobbi Brown's foundation too! What didn't you like about it?

Okay so I finally dyed my hair. I discovered a Japanese brand of hair dye earlier this year. It's called Prettia. I have purchased them from eBay and a from a blog someone told me about, but that guy doesn't sell them anymore, which is upsetting because he sold them for a great price and they shipped a hell of a lot faster than the girl from eBay. I LOVE PRETTIA!
They are super easy to use, they don't make my hair feel super dry and stiff after I use it like other DIY brands I've bought from both drugstores and Sally's Beauty Supplies, and I love the way my hair turns out afterward.

A bit on Prettia:

-It's a Japanese brand that claims to work better for hard to dye hair, mainly Asian women with very dark hair. I think it's for people with really dark and THICK hair, because some of my friends are also Asian but it's not that difficult for them to dye their hair with DIY brands and it's because they have finer hair than me. I have super thick hair and A LOT of it and my hair is naturally very very dark. By the way, they have an "international" brand called "Liese" that is sold in other countries such as China, Singapore, and Taiwan (amongst others). I used Liese the first time, and it works the same except Liese has ENGLISH directions. I have kept the English directions and I like turning to it when I am unsure if I am doing it right. So I would suggest for anyone interested if they want English directions to read, get Liese. Really, there is no difference I don't care if I get Prettia or Liese, even if someone selling it to me says it's Prettia but what I get in the mail is actually Liese.
-It's a FOAM dye, which makes for easy application and less of a mess. I love how easy it is to to use, and if you get some on your skin or on the sink or floor, it's an easy wipe up and it's less damaging than the previous brands I've used (IE. it leaves no damage to my floor or bathroom counter/sink). I mostly love that it doesn't darken my skin in spots near my scalp. Also, I don't know if anyone else suffered through this ::lol:: , for the first month or two with old brands of dyes, whenever I would brush/comb my hair or scratch my scalp, I would get the dye colors on my brushes/combs or my nails would change colors. It was especially apparent when I dyed my hair blue. After scratching my scalp for a second the tips of my nails would have a blue stain and it BUGGED me. This brand, it doesn't do that.
-It claims to do no damage to your hair. I actually think since using it, it has softened my hair. I didn't really notice how soft it makes my hair feel until this third time I used it. When I shampoo my hair it doesn't get that brittle and dry feeling like with other brands. It seems to get super soft and absorb the beautiful fragrance of my shampoo and conditioner better. From the first time I've used it, I LOVED how it didn't make my hair feel fried and stiff when I washed it out, but it was not until now did I feel like it has made my hair feel softer than before.
-It claims that you only need to leave it in for 30 to 40 minutes because the dye stops "working" an hour after you mix the chemicals. I have always hated leaving the dye in for the directed time and have my hair look the same, so I always keep this dye (and any other dye) in for at least an hour and a half or two hours. It turned out better the first time and this most recent time. I don't know if it is because I massaged my hair a lot more or because I left them in longer those times.

^^ agreed!! I love the color

I think I need that stuff ::lol:: I don't have asian hair but I do have naturally black and very thick curly hair... it sucks to dye!

Thanks you guys!

You should look it up Krista. They sell some on Amazon.com and on eBay. I haven't ordered from Amazon yet but I'd prefer there than from places on eBay. It dyes best with virgin black hair, although, I've dyed my hair three times with Prettia and it's come out good all three times.

You know, after reading this, I had a dream last night that I used the same product to dye my own hair. Only it came out purple with pink streaks...and then yeah I woke up ::lol::: ::lol::
