I actually love this show. I've been told by others that it's cheesy, but I don't think so.

A vampire diaries thread i had no idea it was here so glad i found it this show is amazing i love all of them especially damon. If you havent read the books you better do they are different from the show but just as amaizing. Btw i cant believe after tonite's ep the show will be on hiatus. This sucks anyways which couple do you guys ship? Stefan/elena or damon/elena. I ship the latter. I like stefan but damon is way better

Holy shit did anyone see tonite's ep? I mean honestly what a cliff hanger. Tyler is a werewolf. Elena hit something very unatural. Logan got killed and alaric did not amuse me this ep. Oh and elena finally knws abt katherine. The fact dat the shows goes on hiatus sucks

Omg I totally didn't know the show was going on hiatus until I read the last couple comments here, and that news makes me very sad and anxious for when the show returns. But for the most recent episode, I kinda got the idea that Tyler's supposed to be a werewolf, but they didn't make it super clear, so I wasn't sure if I was just imagining that.

And for the show as a whole, Stephenie Meyer needs to be arrested already for stealing other people's ideas! She's already being sued by one author for having too similar of ideas, but after seeing this show, I'm amazed at her nerve. She basically ripped everything off. How Stephan chooses to feed off animals, how he broke up with Elena in the woods using the same excuses Edward did when he breaks up with Bella in the second book, citing that he's doing it to protect her. The fact that the brothers are from Italy bears resemblance to the Volturi and that Italian connection, and in the first episode when Stephan wants his schedule changed and uses his powers to convince the school administrator to do it for him is exactly like Edward using his "dazzling" effects to get the school counselor to change his class. I'm so annoyed by the outrageous similarities between Vampire Diaries and Twilight, and if Tyler does turn out to be a werewolf, that will be just one more similarity. And the fact that VD's came out way before Twilight ever did shows who copied who. Does Stephenie Meyer have a single creative bone in her body? ::)

^Yeah, the only real hints were Tyler's aggressive mood swings and the close up of the full moon. And perhaps his father. But he was a werewolf in the books, so I'm sort of expecting that.

Aww poo the show's going on hiatus?! I didn't know that :(

Yeah about the werewolf thing, thought it was a possibility, but I guess we know for fact it will happen. Haven't read the books, perhaps I should.

The books are really good but very different. Elena is blonde and the opposite to shy TV!Elena, Caroline is a complete bitch and there's another girl called Meredith who's best friends with Elena and Bonnie. I wish they included Meredith, she was sweet. :( Oh and Bonnie isn't black, she is a redhead with Irish heritage. Elena has a little sister instead of a younger brother, and Alaric isn't a vampire. Basically the TV series hardly follows the plot of the books, it's just a loose adaptation. I can't wait to see what they do with the Katherine plot though. That was an awesome storyline in the books...I'm curious to see how it plays out in the series. It's good in the way that now you don't really know what's going to happen next rather than being a straight adaptation.

Oh and L.J Smith is continuing the series!! It's a trilogy called The Vampire Diaries: The Return, which follows Damon. The first book is already out and the next one is coming out next year.

Lol, was I a little too harsh?

And my friend who read the books told me how the show is different, but I still like it. But I definitely prefer Damon to Stefan. I don't know if I'll read the Vampire Diaries books though, I usually prefer reading the book before seeing the movie/tv show.
