The most important thing is the win but how cool would it be to see Cristiano score the winning goal for Real Madrid tonight to send them to the quarter finals for the first time in 7 years? Cristiano has scored alot of goals this season and in his career but he hasn't really had a big "defining" moment yet imo (like we all remeber David Beckham single-handedly taking England to the World Cup finals vs Greece in 2002 with his free-kick or the Brazilian's Ronaldo's hat-trick at Old Trafford, or Zidane's volley in the Champion's League final for Real Madrid, or Ronaldinho getting a standing overation from the Bernabeu for Barcelona or Maradona's run and goal vs England or Ryam Giggs's run and goal vs Arsenal etc) stuff like that, what will Cristiano's career moment be remebered for?? his wink vs England??

  • No Ronaldo; no joy.
i don't think the number of shirts sold matters as long as the team wins silverware.

You'd hope Real Madrid would sell more shirts when/if they win trophies... I see alot more people wearing Barcena shirts since they won the treble last season... like I said, people want to be associated with winners and alot of people jump on bandwagons.

Football has alot of very insecure and fickle fan-base (mixed with the loyal fans), 1 minute you can be hero, legends etc, next you can be the laughing stock of the whole of Europe.

"Everything is rapid in the life of Real Madrid and in the life of Cristiano Ronaldo, symbol of success, strength and speed. It is not surprising that the civil guard at 9.30 yesterday stop you seeing you accelerate at a roundabout and dribble vehicles as if they were cones. The Portuguese was in his Audi Sport black, with the pilot, presuroso to Valdebebas, the first glasses by recesses and on pedals as the rally. It was going to reach the village entrance barrier before his coach, Manuel Pellegrini, when a patrol pursue you, crossed you and stopped you as stops the fugitives. ::lol:: (Be careful, Cristiano!  >:( )

Poor Cristiano didn't understand anything. He was apparently thinking in a such Toulalan. For the Madrid fortune, left him to follow after you request the documentation. And Christian was the first, but the second, after Pellegrini, entered into the site without realizing that its more desequilibrante player you were interrogating on the hard shoulder. Yesterday, in Valdebebas, each was in his world, killing the anxiety, accelerating to the hours pass faster, trying to resolve dilemmas of football, which accumulate as the everyday problems in the decisive moments. Today (20.45, autonomous), against Lyon in the Champions, the Madrid playing season. Need to recover the match 1 - 0 in round. Civil Guard will be learned?"

Real Madrid need to learn from there mistakes.

Honestly - they can't afford many more European failures like the past 7 years. They have a strong expensive squad now - they must deliver big performances sooner rather than later, or it will be the end of the road before it's even started.

But the only way to improve everything is to beat Lyon tonight, I'm sure if Real Madrid lose to Lyon tonight Perez, Valdano etc will try to put a positive spin on it, but they can't, keep getting knocked out in the knockout rounds will mean Real Madrid need to go back to the the drawing board and damage there project and repuation big-time, for Real Madrid's business model to work they need success and to get far in the Champion's League, for companys/fans to want them, otherwise there will be different teams that look more attractive.

For Real Madrid to do worse then last season is embarassing, and this is with Cristiano, Kaka etc joining for huge sums of money, what happens when there is no big name "star" signings and no success??

It's not really funny imo, speeding is dangerous and it's not the first time Cristiano has been done for speeding...

I'm sure Real Madrid and Perez are not happy Cristiano is giving them "unwelcomed" headlines before there big match with destiny, getting into trouble with the police...

True Spain are not making a big deal about it but still, it doesn't help Cristiano/the team prepare for there big game with destiny tonight, Cristiano always seems to get himself in these situations... hes at Real Madrid now, he needs to be more aware of his responsbility as a role-model, even more then United imo.

It doesnt  even say if he got some kind of fine, Maj, relax  ;D and we have different cultures, speeding is not seen as bad here as it is in England probably...you seem more tolerant with cheating or falling drunk though ... ::lol:: (sorry, just a small provacation  :-*  ::lol::)
