Javier "Chicharito" Hernández
« on: 23 March 2010, 05:05:21 »

Javier Hernández Balcazar (born on June 1, 1988 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) also known as Chicharito, is a Mexican footballer currently playing with Chivas de Guadalajara in Primera División as a Forward.

[Information taken from Wikipedia.org]:

He has scored in his 4 goals in his last 3 games played for El Tri as well :D

He has quite a reputation to live up to, seeing as how his father and grandfather both played for Chivas de Guadalajara. His father also was called up to play for the Mexico national team during his career.

Thought it would be nice to open a thread for him :)

oh man..can't believe somebody finally made a thread for this cutie :) ..I thought about making one a long time ago but he wasn't as well known as he is now...and hopefully he'll have a good performance in the WC so that some good team will see him and he'll be known around the world for being the awesome and adorably cute player that he is...

He also seems like a humble and down-to-earth boy...I heard that he even stayed in school which made me admire him even more :D
I just hope that all this media hype he is getting isn't too much for him :-\
He's very good, and at a great level right now...but i think some media are overdoing it a bit ::)

Indeed lol He is defs a cutie :D

I am also a little confused at how much the Mexican media is hyping him up... lol But then again, it's the Mexican media haha They always to manage to create such a sensation over the smallest of things. That's one thing that bugs me about a lot of Latin American papers lol But I think that he definitely has skill. No one could deny that.

Him and his gramps.

I love it because he is from Guadalajara like my family lol I'm biased, but I don't care, he is a great player!!!!!

Oh great Chicharito has his own thread now!!! I was also thiking of opening one for him, as well, but in the end decided against it. But im glad you opened one for him.

So have you guys heard that Chicharito and Vela are considered to be the sixth most dangerous duo for the world cup. The article is on espn deportes.

Just love this guy, another plus that he plays for Chivas. ::lol::

Lol, I had heard a lot of people bringing up starting a thread for him on the Vela thread, and thought it would be great. He certainly merits the attention based on the quality of his skills!!!

Fantastic! Mia, do you think you can post the link to that article here?

I had already said this in the Carlos Vela thread, but I think that Chicharito's aggressiveness plays off of Vela's calm and calculated passes rather well. They compliment each other a lot. I hope that they are able to to significant damage in the world cup! Vamos al mundial El Tri!!!

I love Chivas. I almost died when I went to visit the stadium for the first time lol

Here's the link to the article; but I have only found it in spanish at the moment, hope it's not a problem:
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/futbol/copa-mundial/nota?id=990245

ha ha, I too almost died, when they came to play in California, I was much younger, but still great experience. How long ago was it, that you went to the stadium?

Going off topic, but they really have me a bit irritated with the new stadium, how long can it really take? I know there are some issues they are having with the city but come on, and if im not mistaken, the match that el tri played last week, was originally going to be played in the new chiva stadium of course, if it was done on time.

anyway hope you enjoy the article, i'm off to bed, have class in the morning :-\

No problem, I can understand it enough lol.

I went last summer. It wasn't finished of course, but my Uncle wanted to take me since he never had before when I visited. I of course watch the games here, but to go and see the soon to be stadium was amazing! It's not only going to be a monument to Chivas, but it's also going to be quite a landmark for Guadalajara which will make it even more beautiful!

Yeah, I actually couldn't afford tickets to the Mexico NZ match which was a bit depressing, but I did go to the Rose Bowl and was just hanging around all the folks as they were waiting for the gates to open lol. I took the bus/subway/metro rail lol To just be in that atmosphere was inspiring. It made me hopeful that Mexico could at least make a name for itself this summer in Sudafrica!

I hope they finish estadio chivas soon, so when I visit my family again I could go to a game!

Thank you for the article again!

That's very cool that you went to see the stadiums and the team play :)

I'm guessing from your conversations that you're both from Cali? very cool..
The Mexican NT will be coming to NY/NJ to the Meadowlands stadium to play against Ecuador...I was invited to go but unfortunately can't because I'll be too busy preparing to move to London ;)
but since my family is going...I'll ask them to take pictures in case Chicharito is there :)

Thanks for the pics! he is adorable..and I agree that him and Carlos Vela compliment each other on the pitch..
Thank you for the article! :D

Hola! Well, I'm from Cali and I believe Mia is as well. I'm from San Fernando (a city in the LA county lol). I love it. The Mexican culture is VERY alive here and it's provided a nice place to live in :D However, I go to school in New Hampshire, so being back home in LA is always a refreshing experience for me.

You are moving to London! Is this for school (if you don't mind me asking)? You're very lucky because you stand a great chance at seeing Vela!

Ooooo, hopefully your family will see "The Little Pea" there lol I think that since Chivas doesn't have the same regulations as European clubs (when it comes to the months/dates their players can leave for friendlies) Chicharito will be featured in most of the friendlies from here till June.

Here is a video of Chicharito's fantastic goal against New Zealand. I think it's still a bit baffling how he managed to stay in the air for so long lol

I saw that game and was happy when the duo scored!!! Thanks for opening up this thread. Okay now the Mexico NT needs to make its way down to Florida really soon( im not Mexican but my best friend is so that counts to right? lol). The US played a couple of weeks ago but I didn't get to go. But if Chicha, Vela, Memo, Guardado, or Dos Santos come anywhere close to my town I will make sure i'm right there to see them lol.

Hahaha, that's amazing that you have a lot of love for El Tri even if you're not Mexican! I think that even though you are not from a certain teams country you can still be a fan because of the quality of their plays :D

Perhaps when they play in North Carolina? It's in the South, perhaps a road trip should be in order for you and your friend.

Yeah I don't like when people say I can't like Mexico because i'm not Mexican. It's not like I don't support USA. It frustrates me sometimes but then I have to remember why I support countries that aren't mine and nothing says I can't.

I used to live there so if I go I wouldn't have to stay at a hotel I could just stay with family lol!!

Yes im also from California, But a bit farther up from where Michelle (I beleive that's your name?) lives. For some reason the mexican culture here in California is quite strong. Even in one of my college courses, there seems to be many other nationalities/cultures that are intrested in the Mexican/Chicano history.

The Mexican NT will be coming to NY/NJ to the Meadowlands stadium to play against Ecuador...I was invited to go but unfortunately can't because I'll be too busy preparing to move to London ;)
That's great! your moving to London!, hey you'll be quite close enough to go to some of the Arsenal matches, and hey have Carlos close by also, I really want to go live in London, may sound kind of wierd, but I love the weather. Now it's sort of getting a bit on the hotter side, to which im not a big fan of. Good luck to you over there! ;)

^^^to the national team conversation; I really seem to hate when people, say you cant really support a NT, because you arent from that country. Hey I Support the Mexican, but the Spanish and French one as well.
