I could never name a romcom as one of my ultimate favourites. ???

Anyway, my list.

Quadrophenia - a really quirky film about Mods and Rockers during the 60's.  It stars a young and extremely sexy Ray Winstone. ;D  The soundtrack almost entirely consists of songs by The Who which makes me love it even more, easily the coolest film on this list.

Gladiator - I've mentioned this film a lot and it will always make my top 5.  It's beautiful, from the acting, to the cinematography to the haunting music.  It's wonderful and will always be Crowe's best.

Leon - I'm honestly not a fan of Jean Reno (or Natalie Portman for that matter) but this film is brilliant.  I'm not even into modern police 'action' type films but the relationship between Leon and Mathilda makes this something brilliant and special.

Band of Brothers (doesn't really count as a film, but meh) - I watched the entire series in a week with my housemate.  I didn't know what to expect, my dad and brother have seen the series at least twice and I thought I'd give it a go.  I cried at least 3 times in that week, Spielberg should stick to the war genre because that's clearly what he does best.

This is England - I love everything about this film - the cast, direction, the soundtrack, the gritty acting.  It's about skinheads in England during the early 80's, or in particular, a young boy's association with skinheads after losing his dad in the Falklands war and finding a type of 'father figure' in these guys.  I adore it, and I think they're already planning a type of sequel.

;D

The Goonies- I always loved the whole adventerous part of the movie, and pirates tales of lost  and hidden treasure. It makes me feel like a kid again everytime I watch it.

Steel Magnolias- This movie has managed to make me cry, and in the same in stance laugh, a very good Julia Roberts movie.

Cleopatra- The one with Elizabeth Taylor, I have a thing for old school epics like this one. It wasn't the acting per say, because to me the acting back in the silver age of movie making wasn't all that, but in a few instances it was. It was namely the enormous set and the design with it that impressed me, the costumes were amazing for a film of that time. Very decorative, I guess my creative side is what attracts me to this film, and Elizabeth was gorgeous in it.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof & Cool Hand Luke- Paul Newman is absolutely one of my favorite actors and these two movies are by far my favorite of his. They're enjoyable to watch and the charisma he brings to the acting and into the storyline in general is awesome.

Scorpio, The Godfather, Scarface, & Dog Day Afternoon- Al Pacino, another favorite of mine, he helped make these movies enjoyable for me to watch and enjoy again and again. The storyline of Dog Day Afternoon never gets old. ::lol::

Iron Eagle, The Shiek, & Camille- These are Silent Films, but I absolutely can not help myself when it comes to Rudolph Valentino. :-*

Snatch- Brad Pitt is indeed overrated, but I believe this to be one of Guy Ritchie's best films with Brad in it. "feed 'em to the pigs Eroll!"

American Psycho- By far Christian Bale's best acting, imo.

Interview With A Vampire- Anne Rice never thought Tom Cruise could pull off the crazed bay guy roll, boy was she wrong, and she admitted that herself. I still love it and would prefer it over Twilight in a heartbeat.

The Boondock Saints- A nice action packed, funny one liner, American made movie. Ironically enough it is about two Irish born twin brothers who live in the city of Boston. I have lost count of how many times I have watched it, but everytime I do it does not cease to entertain me. :D

The Goonies! An 80's classic, I've seen it many times.

Films made in the 80's have this sheer cheesiness about them which they can somehow get away with.  I love The Breakfast Club and A Fish Called Wanda too. ;D

It's hard to pick. =__= I tend to become deeply fascinated with certain films for certain periods of time and then come back to it after a year or two.

Brokeback Mountain- A beautiful and tragic love story. Complete classic. Ang Lee's finest work in my mind. Every single actor in the film was great, and the music was half the tale and narration. I can never praise this movie enough.

Pan's Labyrinth- Yeah, I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for Guillermo del Toro films. XD This is my absolute favorite film of his. I loved that the protagonist is a young girl who is still fascinated with fairy tales. The color palette in the film is breath taking. The story in itself is very well scripted. The things that come from Guillermo's mind are always great to see. This film touched me very deeply, and it's difficult to find a movie that speaks to me so clearly and stays with my mind.

Coraline- I can't speak of "Pan's" and leave "Coraline" out. In a sense the films are very similar. Young girl growing out of childhood, just reaching the age of realizing that perhaps "make believe" is "kiddie" but yet, they embrace these "make believe" worlds with open arms, never once considering if they're too old for it or if it's "real" or "fake". They also go in an adventure, and they're pretty scary, to have something fulfilled. But they also have very different approaches in telling the tale. Coraline is also the best film I have ever seen in 3D and perhaps the best stop motion animation film I have ever enjoyed (yes, even more than "NBC" but that doesn't mean I don't like it). Oh, right, soundtrack? ALSO AWESOME!

The Hurt Locker- I grew up watching a lot of war films. I love most war films. This one turns the genre upside down and makes up new rules as to how a war film should be done. Love the one liners, love the action, to-die-for cinematography, and what's not said are oftentimes the best dialogues in this movie. I can't say there was anything that I didn't like about this film.

The Godfather Part 2- I have only seen the first two films. Never really gave the third much of a chance. I love the first Godfather, but the second one piques my interest a lot more. I thought the flow of the film was better than part 1. Francis Ford Coppola was able to take his time and do more of what he wanted with this film than the first, and that kind of quality paid off. Telling two tales to make one and comparing Vito's rise to Michael's big rise was so finely edited both stories wove together perfectly.

Singin' In The Rain- My absolute favorite musical of all time! I love Gene Kelly and I loved how he danced. I loved everything about this movie and they don't make films like this anymore which just makes me like it even more.

Spider-Man- I don't so much as love the movie as I love the meaning of Spider-Man the movie. I can't ever forget where I was when I first realized that this movie was great and it meant that there was more to come. Yes, there would be better made superhero movies coming out, but none of them could ever take me back to that first realization that this was something amazing going on.

Come to think of it, the same can be said of...
Lord of the Rings: FOTR- I can never forget how that movie impacted my life. Discovering the fandom, the books, the world of Middle Earth...all of it. Becoming dorky wasn't so bad afterall. XD

There are more, but there is always another time to list more movies? ::lol::
