Patrick Chukwuem Okogwu Jr. (born 7 November 1988), better known by his stage name, Tinie Tempah, is a rapper and MC from Plumstead, South London. Tinie's first music video for promotional single ?Wifey?, became an underground hit holding the Channel U urban chart top spot for 10 consecutive weeks in 2006. He plans to release his LP, "The Disc-Overy" in August 2010, with the hit singles Pass Out and Frisky.
His break came with a YouTube video hit of a track called "Wifey" and scoring a track for a hand-held computer console alongside DJ Ironik in 2005. Patrick went on to shoot his first music video for "Wifey", which became an underground hit holding the Channel U urban chart top spot for 10 consecutive weeks. Alongside his cousin as his manager, the pair set up their own label, Disturbing London Records, through which Patrick released his first official mixtape, Hood Economics Room 147: The 80 Minute Course. As well as featuring Bashy and Chipmunk, threview, noting Patrick?s shifting rhyme schemes, delivery and "nerve." .
In mid 2009 Patrick released his second mixtape, "Sexy Beast: Volume 1". Inspired by the Ray Winstone film, the CD featured M.I.A. on I?m Hot and proved to be so popular that the South Londoner ended up making another D.I.Y. video in New York.
His debut single "Pass Out" has received fore play from Tim Westwood, Nick Grimshaw, Annie Mac, Ras Kwame, MistaJam, Jo Whiley and Chris Moyles while Zane Lowe declared it the "Hottest Record In The World Today" and "Single Of The Week" and is currently on the BBC Radio 1 A Playlist. In addition Reggie Yates named it as the Weekend Anthem for 20/21 February 2010. The official music promo and track were released on 1st March. On 7 March 2010, "Pass Out" went straight to #1 on the UK Singles Chart and the UK R&B Chart.
Patrick was nominated for MTV's 10 for 2010 as an artist to watch out for in 2010.
He announced his signing to Parlophone by running a competition on his blog, with the winner invited to High Tea at Claridges to celebrate the deal.. He toured with Chipmunk in February 2010. According to MTV, Patrick's major label debut album, titled "The Disc-Overy" (pronounced discovery), is due to release in August 2010. Tinie then announced his second single, "Frisky" and is due to release on June 6, 2010. Tinie performed at Radio 1 Big Weekend in Bangor on 22nd May 2010 on the 'In New Music We Trust' stage and informed the crowd his album would be out in August 2010.
On 28th May 2010 Tinie performed at The University Of Winchester, London Metropolitan University and Hertfordshire University's Summer Balls
