Should Cristiano Be Portugal Captain?
« on: 21 August 2006, 17:53:15 »
should Ronaldo be Portugal captain now that Figo has retired?

i think he should, i really don't see anyone in the Portuguese team who stands out as a captain, yes Ronaldo mite be a rough around the edges choice but i think it would improve him as a player and give him extra responsiblity to track back and stuff, it will make him a more complete player..

also he loves his country as shown as the WC and has lots of experiance for 21.

i think he has good qualities to be the captain.

also there are other candidates like Carvalho and Andrade who perhaps have the edge on Cristiano as there position is better for a captain.

if Pauleta is still playing he will probably get it.

but maybe Cristiano is a captain of the future?

I think Pauleta would do it, I don't see Cristiano being a real captain yet, Pauleta has more experience he's older maybe wiser? It's not that Cristiano doesnt have experience and is plain stupid, not at all, but I think Pauleta would do the trick better....

yeah, he's still too young, but i'd love to see him as a captain in two or three years time, he should have a lot more experience by then

i really like that ronaldo be the captain but a captain is a very important person in the field but i think that ronaldo now cant be the captain ? WHY?? cuz i like his trick, stepovers, flicks but if the captain is doing tricks in the game and maybe loss the ball so who is going to say HEY RONALDO STOP DOING THAT WE NEED GOALS NO TRICKS so... if he is the captain all the team will be doing tricks everywhere jajajajaj so thats my opinion i like to see captain to CARVALHO or F. MEIRA ;) OR DECO WHY NOT......

were more his fans then you are obvioulsy because your a fan of his looks were fans of both his talent and his looks... we noe the amount of experience and knowledge it takes to lead a world cup team we have no doubt that one day he will captain the portugal team but we are also realistic... in saying that he is too young to captain the team... dont say were not true fans otherwise we would be here...

I dont think Cristiano should be captain of Portugal. He is still young for it, he is going to be one day if he continues to play such a good games, but to be captain now of Portugal its to early. Dont take this wrong I'm big fan of him, I think he is one of the best young players in world now, but still I dont see him as captain of Portugal for now.
