I think Figo won Footballer of the year and cause he always won they decided to create one for the portuguese league but i dont think they an official award right now...

That's abit sad it's not considered a official award in Portugal like it use to be then that's get alot of attention..

In some other country's, they seem to celebrate there countrys "footballers of the year" more and it's like a big event Gala etc.

I remeber a few years ago when Cris won the "Portuguese Person of the Year" award from foreign journalists in Portugal and they took it back off him and gave it to someone else  :-\ not very nice.

Oh well, hes won lots of other awards and will win more  :-*
