I don't understand it. Men+long hair = bad romance novel. I can even cope with the beardy thingie, and I hate beards.

That saaaid, WELCOME TO LIVERPOOL MR CARROLL :D The fans are all behind you and we hope you take us to amazing heights!

Andy Carroll on Merseyside for LFC talks

ANDY CARROLL has arrived on Merseyside to discuss personal terms on his £35million move to Liverpool.

The player's exit from St James' Park has left Toon fans stunned on transfer deadline day and United have been left to scramble for an incoming new face in the final few hours of the transfer window.

Carroll's move is expected to be completed in time for the 11pm deadline providing a personal package can be agreed.

The player had returned from a specialist in Sweden with the go ahead to resume training this week but his next game is likely to be in a Liverpool shirt.

Carroll had started the day as a Toon player and checked into the training ground as normal.

But as the pace of deadline day picked up and Liverpool upped their bids for the star, he was whisked to Merseyside for talks in dramatic fashion.

I hope they are, it would be a shame if they didnt accept his move. If they had said no then he would of stayed and been happy. Unliked someone else I know ::)

I'm really excited at the thought of what he's going to bring to the club :D

I've admired him over the season so far but never thought he'd end up one of us. I hope this is part of an incredible new beginning for the club. We shall see :)

Haha i'm so disappointed in that someone else, but I'm gunna put that to rest and wish him the best. Who would choose London over Liverpool anyway? Psh.

Same, Laura ^^ I've watched him for quite a while now and I'm loving the prospects of what he could do for us

Andy Carroll to join Liverpool as Newcastle accept £35m offer
Andy Carroll is poised to sign for Liverpool from Newcastle United in a club record transfer fee worth at least £35 million.

Carroll is currently heading to Liverpool for a medical check-up and to discuss personal terms after Newcastle owner Mike Ashley 'reluctantly' accepted the Anfield bid.
A brief statement on the club's website read: "Liverpool FC confirmed this afternoon that Newcastle United had accepted a club record offer for the transfer of Andy Carroll.
"The club have been given permission by Newcastle to discuss personal terms with the player, who will now travel to Liverpool for a medical."
Liverpool had an offer of £25 million rejected earlier today and were told that they would have to pay a further £10 million to land the forward.
The club?s owners, Fenway Sports Group, have surprised even their own fans with their spending so far this transfer window, with the Carroll deal following the arrival of Luis Suarez from Ajax.
A deal will only go through, though, should Chelsea sign Torres which is expected before the 11pm deadline. The Spanish international left Melwood, Liverpool?s training base, at lunchtime, and Telegraph Sport understands he is travelling down to London where he will be checked over by Chelsea's doctors. Personal terms are still to be agreed, although these are not expected to be a problematic.
Liverpool have finally accepted Chelsea's bid of £45m plus add-ons for the Spaniard, in a move which will smash the British transfer record.
