VICENTE SUFFERS NEW ANKLE BLOW

Valencia winger Vicente is almost certain to miss Wednesday's UEFA Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk with an ankle injury. The 25-year-old, who has a history of ankle trouble, picked up a knock during Sunday's 3-2 defeat against Celta Vigo.

The Spain international sat out much of last season and missed the World Cup because of a similar injury to the same ankle - the left one.

"Vicente is very worried because he has injured the same ankle that was operated on and it has swollen a lot," said club doctor Antonio Giner.

"We will have to wait until we do further tests [on Monday] to find out the precise extent of the injury."

The Spanish side are top of Group D after collecting maximum point from their opening two games against Olympiacos and Roma.

Oh great, the referee for Valencia's CL game against Shakhtar is Mike Riley! I really don't rate him as a referee and he sent off Marchena in one of Valencia's CL game a couple of years back!!!

Villa is scaring me to death
he should scare every opposite team
He's been doing nothing but scoring lately
I grew to like Valencia but I still want them to lose every once in awhile

A perfect night of football must include Valencia
But when they'll lose I do feel sorry for them  :-\
I hope they'll make it far in the champions league (not too far though)

ALBELDA FACES INJURY LAY OFF

Valencia midfielder David Albelda looks set to be sidelined until the middle of December with a knee injury.

The Spain international had to be stretchered from the pitch early in the second half of Valencia's Liga clash with Osasuna.

Tests will be carried out on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury, but team doctor Antonio Giner has already informed Spanish media that Albelda is likely to be out for between six and eight weeks.

Albelda joins defenders Carlos Marchena and Asier del Horno and midfielder Ruben Baraja on Valencia's growing injury list.

He could miss Valencia's next three UEFA Champions League matches against Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympiakos and Roma, as well as a key period in the Spanish domestic season.

Oh great, now we have no midfielders!!  :'(

Im starting to think Valencia are cursed not only Tavano, Moretti, Albelda, Del Horno, Marchena, Regueiro and Gavilán, Edu...are all injured but i heard David Villa picked up a small injury to the isquiotibiales (sorry i dont know the english for it) ...its only considered a slight problem but seriously how unlucky can 1 team be?
