6. Ronaldo

Ronaldo is engaged in an image cleanup that, in theory, will help close the appreciation gap that exists between him and Messi in the eyes of fellow professionals and journalists when awards time comes around. First off, I'll miss Ronaldo's theatrical displays of happiness, frustration and anger. Secondly, not even if he sewed a pair of angel's wings on his back and balanced a halo on his head could the Portuguese prevent further recognition that, exceptional though he is, Ronaldo remains light-years behind the young Argentine, who is shaping up as the best footballer ever.

Image clean up ???

"Ronaldo is engaged" how many fangirls had a panic attack when they read the 1st part of that sentence?  ::lol:: ::lol::

I can't say I've noticed much difference, apart from the incident at the Camp Nou where he didn't get involved and Spanish TV said he was a "changed man" but I think it's happened naturally maturing :)

If he said he was the best player in the world, people would call him arrogant. Back in United when he joked saying he was the best player in the world (the red carpet with Rio and Anderson), the way people reacted at that, it was as if he said something blasphemous.  ::)

Honestly, the guy can't win either way.  :-\

He is though if you look at some articles. I think fans should accept it.  :-X ::lol::

::lol::

He won't win because people have already made there minds up on him (closed mind), the people who meet him seem to change there mind once they met him but not everyone will have the chance sadly.

I think it bothered him more when he was younger adapting to it, but through the years hes got use to it and developed a barrier/hard-skin..  :-*

Maybe it's too premature to say this but Cristiano already seems one of Real Madrid's greatest players ever :)

He won't be appreciated by soccer fans till he's retired, and they see the huge Ronaldo-sized hole in the soccer world.
