I'm afraid for those games. Some of the most important players are missing, especially in the defense with Pepe, Coentrao (Carvalho  :-X). And now, there's a lot of new players being called up...

We'll see, but i'm uncomfortable right now :(

From Lisbon, to the Algarve and Porto...PB really likes travelling!  ::lol:: And I think this is a first they get together in this hotel in the middle of Lisbon since they always use other hotels outside.

It's so tight at the top. From my experience watching football Portugal never qualify the easy way, they are more of a tournament team.

Portugal can't afford to lose to Denmark away as it's virtually a 6-pointer head-to-head. Thankfully they are not as good as a few years ago when Portugal lost there.

I'm actually pretty shocked Portugal have qualified for every international tournament since Cristiano played for Portugal at 18 years old, they never missed out on qualifying so Cristiano has never tasted that disappointment like England players at Euro 2008 watching it at home. it's a great record they have.

What happens if Portugal finish 2nd.. play-offs?

But still Portugal will qualify if they beat Iceland and lose to Denmark, they will be the best out of 2nd placers and qualify without extra games, that's what they said on tv :) So we need to win Iceland, that is the most important and then try to win or draw Denmark too.

Normally there would be, but the best 2nd placer qualifies automatically and Portugal will be that if they win either of their games :)

But Greece and Sweden are 2nd in their groups and have 18 points?

Other teams have more points who are 2nd too (but have played more games)

There's some system on that

"Because some groups contain six teams and some five, matches against the sixth-placed team in each group are not included in this ranking. As a result, eight matches played by each team will count for the purposes of the second-placed table"

Anyway currently Denmark is the best second placed team, you can see it from UEFA website :)

Thanks :) that's good then.

But let's hope they win both games so it's much easier! ::lol::

If they are counting 8 games played then the other 2nd placed teams are still ahead of Portugal if Portugal lose to Denmark and beat Iceland.

And I just read from other forum it wouldn't still be 100% sure, Sweden could beat us in second place. banghead These "so-called experts" in tv once again were not knowing what they were saying.

Only they think it's unlikely to happen cos Sweden would then have to beat Netherlands next week.

If Portugal lose to Denmark and beat Iceland they will have 16 points I think with 8 games played, some of the other second-placed teams have 18 points with 8 games played?

It''s confusing! ::lol::
