Yeah generally speaking Japanese anime is top dog. No one can really attempt to be as good as it. I don't watch a lot of anime anymore but I used to be heavily addicted to Inuyasha. After season 4 I think....I got a bit tired of it. But I get like that with all animes. They tend to go on too long and get really repetitive.

Has anyone see Samurai Champloo? I think there were only two seasons of it, but one of the best anime shows I've ever seen.

The same can be said about "Detective Conan". :'( Cartoon Network put it on at like three in the morning here so it got cancelled because no one watched it. Well, if they'd put the show on earlier then MAYBE it would have had a bigger fan following.

I used to watch Pokemon and Yu gi oh, but that got cancelled and Pokemon 'evolved' and got all these new characters which I didn't like.  Anyone remember Pokemon cards? ::lol::

My gay friend still collects Pokemon cards. ::lol:: He doesn't play them, he just collects them.

Yu Gi Oh is still huge here, and my brothers love playing it. They go to a Yu Gi Oh tornament every weekend actually. I think they read the manga more than watch the show though...I dunno. They're more heavily into anime than I am.

I know they like Bleach. But I'm not into it.

this is old but I LOVE "Detective Conan"/"Case Closed"!! Cartoon Network stopped airing it awhile ago but luckily when I got Comcast their On Demand feature has this thing that leads to "Funimation Anime" and you can watch some anime shows for free. Lucky for me they have "Cased Closed" but I only get ONE new episode every Friday and sometimes they stop updating new eps for a few weeks and it's agony. I think I've only gotten to episode 87.

"One Piece"...hmm....sounds familiar but I can't recall what it's about. My friend and brothers were really into "Naruto" but they got tired of it after so many eps. They said it went on too long. I think a couple of my brothers still read the mangas but they don't watch the show anymore. My brothers are still really into "Bleach."

I mostly just watch "Detective Conan"/"Case Closed". I tried reading "Vampire Kiss" (I think that's what it is called) but a friend told me it goes on too long and she didn't really like the ending, another friend said the same thing though she says the drawings are really pretty (and they are).

Glad I have fellow anime fans here xD. Almost thought I was alone! xD

.the.lost.snicket. - your on episode 87? u've got to be kidding me! If u like it you should probably start reading the manga, u'll probably catch up faster. I first watched it on a german TV station. They aired it until episode 300 I think. Then I started watching it online and I watched the last episode just a couple of hours ago. Today the new episode comes out in Japan. I think it will be the 582nd episode :). If u like it you should probably see the movies too. Since ur talking about Conan being aired on Cartoon Network and Funimation u probably live in America so purchasing it shouldn't be a problem. I wish I could order some from the German Amazon, but since i don't have a credit card..

Ohhh, and I just have to say this! You just have to watch the K-ON anime series! I love it! If it wouldn't be for One Piece it would probably be my fav anime.
here are some wikipedia links:

Thanks for the recs! I've watched a few of the Conan movies and they're really good. I have been thinking about just purchasing the series since it'd be loads easier than waiting for new eps.

Oh! Okay yeah my brothers were into "One Piece" for awhile. I don't know if they still read the mangas though. I know they stopped watching the show awhile back.

They really got into "death Note" but I never did, though it looks pretty good.

I've heard of "K-On!" They have the mangas at my library. I've thought of reading it but I make bad commitments with mangas. ::lol::
