"Like You" is probably one of my favorites because it is so raw with emotion. Amy makes her lyrics very personal and it's easy to relate to her. It's hard with Nightwish sometimes because they are so much into symbolism and allegories (like in "7 Days to the Wolves") And that sort of thing can get so broad or out there that you don't really know what it's about. What's so amazing about them is just the pure genius that is Tuomas (the keyboard player). He writes all the lyrics and 95% of the music, and it's just crazy how much musical talent he has. And he's so into film scores/music, etc. You can definitely hear that influence in his music. I think they're both like pioneers because before Evanescence, there weren't any rock bands with female singers that were popular in the US. And with Nightwish, it's just the juxtaposition of symphonic/theatrical music and metal, plus the female lead. They're both so unique, which is great to balance out all of the post-grunge bands like Nickelback, Hinder, and the list goes on. It's just good to have bands that try to take risks and take their music to the next level.
