Il Divo
« on: 13 December 2006, 12:46:39 »
I adore this group.....i was only wondering if someone on this forum likes them too

They sing like angels, they are witty, sexy and handsome.............

They are Il Divo

here's how it went down.......Simon Cowell came up with the idea of them so he search for them around the world and found these four guys...........i'm sure you heard enough of that story........ ............but let's skip Simon and move right to the men themselves and their music...that is what that really matter...........

I'll introduce you to each member one by one first:

Name: Urs Toni Buhler (He's my fav)
Age: 35
Country: Switzerland
Marital Status: Single/Girlfriend (Valerie Brusselle, french violinist)
Voice: Tenor
Facts about him: He was a lead singer of a heavy metal band at 17 before he got classical training.  He perform several roles with the Neterlands Opera.  He loves motorbikes (riding them and restoring them).  He is not very good with computers.  His fav bands are Judas Priest, Nightwish, Black Sabbath and Toto.  His fans called him 'The Swiss Rock God'.  He is able to play 5 instruments(guitar, drums, piano, violin and clarinet).  He is also able to speak 5 languages (Swiss-German, German, French, English and Dutch).  He's often the serious one in the group and he's not very revealing in interviews (all the more that makes him more mysterious and sexy :D ).  His grandfather is Italian (which makes him part italian, but he can't speak italian).  Numerous polls have already proven that he's the most popular one among the divos.

Name: David Earl Miller
Age: 33 (he's the baby of the group)
Country: Usa
Marital Status: Single/Girlfriend (I heard her name is Sarah.  All I know is that she played one of the leads in La Boheme)
Voice: Tenor
Facts About Him:  He stared in several musicals before Il Divo.  He played the role of Rudolfo in the Broadway version of the opera 'La Boheme' and he was almost nominated for a Tony for it.  He's a Star Wars fan and he was a geek in high school.  He loves playing Playstation and mixing techno music.  He listens to Enminem.  He can play the piano.  He speaks a little bit of Japanese.  His fans often called him 'The Butt King'.  He's known as the boyish one of the group and is usually very witty.

Unfortunately, to hear him in La Boheme you'll have to buy the Cd and the Dvd (which i can't find :( ).............but here are some pics though

I wish i'm the girl

Him in West Side Story

Name: Sebastien Izambard
Age: 33
Country: France
Marital Status: Single/Girlfriend (Her name is Renee and she's Australian)
Voice: Vox Populi (it means that he's a tenor but he uses his voice like a pop singer)
Facts About Him: Before Il Divo, he was a pop artist in France with already an album, entitled 'Libre' under his belt.  He was working on his secound before he join Il Divo.  He stared in the musical, 'Le Petit Prince'.  He likes Jellybabies, tennis and red wine.  He listens to Andrea Boceli, Radiohead, Queen, and Keane.  He speaks French, English, a little bit of Italian and he's learning Spanish.  He's an accomplish songwriter, pianist and guitarist.  He once possess a pilot liscense.

As his Libre album is rare......here are some songs from it, from some lucky ladies who have the album......

here's his performance in 'Le Petit Prince'( I think he did pretty good)

Name: Carlos Marin
Age: 38
Country: Spain
Marital Status: Married to Geraldine Larrossa (she's already an opera star in Spain, she's very talented)
Voice: Baritone
Facts About Him:  Before Il Divo, he was already a re-knowned stage performer in Spain and won critical-aclaim as primo baritono in the roles he play.  He stared in Madame Butterfly, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, La Boheme and many more.  He loves listening to Elvis, Tom Jones and Queen.  He loves women and is a ladies man (but I'm sure he's faithful).  He speaks Spanish, English, German and a little bit of Italian.  His fans called him 'Latin Lover' or 'The Cheeky Spanaird'.

This is the video of Carlos playing Marius in the Spanish version of Les Miserables...........i think the Corsette is Geraldine

and him in a Zarzuela

His wedding pic...........

Next will be their career as a group

They burst into the scene when they performed the Spanish version of 'Unbreak My Heart' and their self titled debut album debut at number 1 in the Uk(knocking Robbie Williams out of that spot) and number 4 in the Us.  Their fans ages range from 13 to 60.

this is 'Regresa A Mi (Unbreak My Heart) (i think this beats the original by a mile)

Mama (beautiful song.......sometimes makes you think about your mother)

A year later, they release their second album, 'Ancora' (Encore/Again in Italian) and the Encore DVD.  The album features covers like Hero and All By Myself and more original songs and it also feature the duet with Celine Dion 'I Believe in you'.........Ancora took only 3 months to record

Isabel (My fav song from the album)

I Believe in You (with Celiene Dion)

Solo Tra Vez (All by Myself)

Special for Football fans (that's us)

They had also performed the Official 2006 Fifa World Cup song with Toni Braxton, 'Time of Our Lives'....they performed the song during the opening and closing ceremonies

Their New album 'Seimpre' is already in stores.....get it.....it's their best one yet

Il Divo are good, but it's taking me awhile to get into them. Probably because I'm constantly checking out new artists and don't listen to their cds often.
