Kooks star targeted by Winehouse
The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard is the latest musician to be caught in the gaze of gutter-mouth jazz-pop singer Amy Winehouse - hit with a torrent of abuse for complimenting the star at a recent live appearance.
Pritchard and his band were guests on a recent taping of Later With Jools Holland, and took the opportunity to praise fellow guest Amy Winehouse. However, the meeting didn't quite go as the singer had planned.
"All I said to her was that I enjoyed her latest album and suddenly, out of the blue, she had a massive go at me," he reveals. A"t one point she told me to f**king pull my head out of my a**e. It was really weird. Everyone was just standing around looking at her.
"It's strange because she was really nice to begin with. But when I went up to her at the photoshoot she suddenly turned really cold. She's crackers. I f**king don't give a s**t.
"Some people are just like that - artists like Van Morrison, who's really moody. I still think she's great. I didn't really like her first album but I love her second. She's got an amazing voice."
