That £12.24million you were talking about, I assume you are meaning what Man Utd payed for Ronaldo. If you were that was the transfer fee. That money is just a one off payment made from one club to another to end the player's contract. So Man Utd payed the majority of that money to Sporting Lisbon basically as compensation to Sporting as Ronaldo would have still been under contract. Most of that money goes to the club, a small proportion would have also gone to the agents and to Ronaldo. Thats compared to free agents who have no club so when signed cost nothing.
But footballers in the Premiership get a heck of a lot of money each week. Just depends on the footballer and how big the club is. Like Henry gets about £110,000 a week compared with the £50,000 that Fabregas gets. But you have to remember that they wont actually get £50,000, that will be heavily taxed, you're talking at about 40% of that coming off in Income Tax. So after tax they will only get about £30,000.. or is the £50,000 already with the tax taken off?
