SPOILER ALERT FOR EPISODE 200
Tonights episode, is definately the best, my favorite episode in all of Smallville history. I mean talk about writing, directing, subject, everything just synching together to open up a new era (yeah, last season and all) but a new age to what we know is Clark Kent.
Set during the Smallville High Reunion, who wasnt wondering what memories would be brought back, obviously the first one was of Lana Lang, who sets the stage for modern Clark troubles by mentioning the fact that she didnt know he had a darkseid. Lois feeling a little ignored, because no one remembers her... But Clark Kent is smallville royalty people. Then comes the apperance of our definately second favorite bad boy Braniac played by the wonderful James Masters. But no fret people, this is future branian of the 31st century, who has been saved and is good again, and he is now here to show Clark what most people have been trying to tel him since, well, forever.
We start at the defining moment, The death of jonathan Kent, where we realize, as if we didnt know, that Clark blames himself, when he shouldnt really, because johnathan kent made a choice. Braniac then lays it down, the source of his darkness srpung from blame and guilt about the past, and also what he holds up as past mistakes is endangering the relationships with people in the present.
Chloe wise, we re-enter the torch room, where we see the introduction of the Wall of Weird, and then emergence of the new digital wall of weird, worldwide version. The new kids seem to think the Blur was born and raised in smallville, for high schoolers who never met clark, great guess.
There is also a very important Oliver Queen moment, where we see justin Hartley doing one of his perfectly amazing tortured soul moments, where he is seeing the consequences of revealing his identity as the green arrow. He looks at the news, and sees people wanting an answer, basiclly for why? for what entitles him to be the green arrow. Ollie then calls his secretary/assistant, and asks if anyone called, she lists every major news network, but he stops her, and then she says that Mr. Kent hasnt called. Clark then realizes that Ollie needs him. and Braniac goes on into the you need to let peoples mistakes goes, and help them be the persons they can be, not just hold everything over their heads.
Braniac also gets us to the present, where we see how Lois is dealt a mean card, when she is ignored and then reminded of how epic Lana and Clark should have been... epic ... not! it is all about Lois now, trust me. Clark is then explained by braniac that he is trying to protect lois too much in some way. We see a buddy from the past going to deliver a message, but Clark gets a little angsty and hurries up crap, and ends up in the future, in the Daily planet, where he meets a very handful of Lois, who happens to know everyhing about him... yeah, the moment she said the word krypton and clarks eyes well basiclly almost left his body we figured it out. Then he meets... himself. Who goes on a little about time traveling and how when he was past clark he made the same trip, and that at this moment he had to be at the roof, because there was going to be a nuclear explosion or something, and he needed clark, who said something about not saving the world a little earlier, and future clark tells him that this conversation was important. Fuure clark flies of saves metropolis from nuclear explosion, while past clark saves lois, and makes out with her. Yes, we loved that too.
Back in the present sort of, we see clark looking at the man with the message, who basiclly asks lois to tell clark thank you, because in all honesty that is what the majority population of smallville owes clark. We find that clark realizes that yes, him blaming himself for his past, and being afraid of his future is basiclly the reason for having his darkside in him.
Braniac leaves and then we are back. Clark and Lois try to dance, the reunion ends and we move on, sort of.
The last part starts with clark visiting his fathers grave, in an emotional moment, to finally let go, say goodbye, and be the person Johnathan kent always thought he could be. He then goes to Luthorcorp where ollie is struggling a little getting his words out against a critically evil reporter. He then sees Clark in support and gains back his strength leaving the reporter fuming. In resume of his speech, he details the fact that he lost someone important to him, and that he is trying to do the right thing for this country, and his city. He brings up kennedy's "Its not what your country...." line, and says that kennedy saw the hero in everyone. His big emotional line said something along the lines of "in a generation of critics and not leaders, I am doing something, so yes i am a hero" a purpose-filled look at Clark and he ends it "And i am not alone". We see the wannabe-torch-fans-chloekids, looking at the torch in their phones and how they get a text from CS... CHLOE SULLIVAN... that text that makes the missing Allison feel like being there. We go then to the last scene, with our Lois walking into a Strobe ball lighted barn, and a clark kent asking her to dance. He says he loves her, we swoon, she answer back, we awww, they continue dancing, and then the gasping like mad, and screaming begins when Clark Kent unknowly after saying "For once, can we leave tomorrow for tomorrow" and dropping his worry load, with a lois lane on top clark feet dancing... HE BEGINS TO FLOAT!!! yes people, clark defied the laws of gravity!!! he will fly sometime in this season!!! he is freaking floating!!!!
Yes people, i ranted, and vented, and typed until my brains fried a little, but in all honesty, i will also be watching this episode again and again because it was amazign like that!!!!
