As individuals, both Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon tend to steer clear of drama.  So it?s no wonder that they prefer their romance to be low key.

The longtime twosome was spotted grabbing some lunch yesterday afternoon out in Los Angeles, California, looking so happy together.  And as they finished their meal, both the ?Sweet Home Alabama? cutie and her ?Day After Tomorrow? beau left in the same vehicle.

Reese looked sweet in a casual blue belted dress with a dark cardigan sweater and a pair of strappy sandals, while Jake opted for a more macho white v-neck t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

Witherspoon?s latest project is a movie called ?Four Christmases? (due out in November).  She told press, ?The movie is all about family.  It?s about the connection with your mother and your father, and those dynamics, so I really think people are going to relate to it. [But also,] it?s about divorce. It?s about how people have step-families and [need to] negotiate going to your mom?s and your dad?s. I really think people haven?t seen many movies like that.?

Adding fuel to the rumor mill that they?ll be engaged soon, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted enjoying a romantic beach picnic yesterday.

The ?Sweet Home Alabama? starlet and her ?Brokeback Mountain? stud were spotted meandering around the beach in Malibu, California, finally settling on a spot and setting up their blanket for lunch. 

And though Reese?s kids stayed home, both lovebirds brought their dogs (Jake has a German Shepherd named Atticus and Reese has a pug named Coco) along for the outing.

According to an inside source, the ?Rendition? actor is planning on proposing to his ?Legally Blonde? babe in the not-too-distant future. 

?They?ve been talking marriage for a while. They?ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together.?

Legally Blonde beauty Reese Witherspoon and her Brokeback Mountain beau Jake Gyllenhaal are one step closer to the altar. 

Recent press reports state that Gyllenhaal, 27, quietly moved into Witherspoon?s $5 million dollar Los Angeles home and is already becoming a part of her fiercely guarded family.

?Marriage is definitely what they are working toward,? a source close to the actress, 32, tells press of the couple who?ve been together for a year.

The Jarhead star is even helping to raise her two kids ? Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4 ? from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

?They literally don?t want to spend any time away from each other,? a Witherspoon pal adds.

her daughter has her forehead and Ryan Phillippes jawline...
she has a good taste in guys Ryan Phillippe  and funny, down to earth, smart  jake :)
