Yes, he was fully fit. Both Lazovic and Engelaar made a speedy recover by the placenta treatment and returned a lot sooner.

It sucked and his injury sucks even more. Dirk Kuyt was really annoyed with the way the Italians handled the game. And if Dirk finds it annoying, it says something. I have come over my anger I had yesterday evening but this really sucks. The next time Oranje is facing Italy, Van Bommel should play a trick on Chiellini. A trick he does best; sneakily hurt someone and getting away with it. Italians rule? Can you please say that somewhere else? Like the way they celebrated the goal. Which was quite obviously hands. In England that is regarded as cheating. In Italy that is seen as victory. Serie A is one of the most beautiful championship in the world and u don't know how it goes in Italy! A goal is always a goal and u have to celebrate if the referee say it is right ! |

I wish Van Persie a speedy recovery, The Premiership will miss him! Robin was on the phone yesterday evening at Studio Voetbal. He spoke about his injury. (He also celebrated the birthday of his son yesterday) but he had a scan in Amsterdam and today he is going for a second opinion to Rotterdam. And tomorrow he will fly to Yugoslavia to see a special doctor. He said it was kind of a vage treatment but it has helped with Danko Lazovic, Serbia- and PSV player, Lazovic had the diagnose of 6 weeks out of the game. He got to see her and was fit in two (!!) weeks. But she has this special treatment where she massages the injured body part (In this case the ankle ofcourse) with placenta. This treatment takes three days and he will get massaged three times a day. He already spoke to the medical staff of Arsenal and they are fine with it. If this doesn't help, it won't interfear with his normal revalidation.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has admitted four of his top stars have received special placenta treatment to step recovery from injury.Glen Johnson, Fabio Aurelio, Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera have each visited a Serbian clinic in Belgrade, run by physiotherapist Mariana Kovacevic. The unique treatment involves a massage with placenta and has recently emerged as a popular new form of speeding up the healing process for athletes with muscle problems. All four players have since returned to full training and are in contention for Saturday's visit of Manchester City, with a Champions League trip to Debrecen on Tuesday and the Merseyside derby at Everton next Sunday.Ironically, it was former City player Riera who suggested the treatment after hearing good reports from former teammate Pablo Zabaleta, who has underwent treatment at the same clinic in the past. Benitez said: "We knew of other players at Premier League clubs who have been to Belgrade for treatment with this lady, and we were made aware that it was very effective. Zabaleta told Riera about it. "She has been working for seven years with top-class sportsmen, not just footballers. So she has the experience. Opportunity "We felt it was a good opportunity to send some of our players. We sent two, Benayoun and Riera and they came back and started training straight away.
"So we decided to send two more, Johnson and Aurelio, and the same thing has happened. They have been training and all four will be in the squad against City."Arsenal's Robin van Persie went earlier, but now there are several more top players who are going to have treatment in the same way. "City have sent two, (Vincent) Kompany and Zabaleta beforehand, and they were playing within days."There have been no injections, it is a placenta cream applied with a (massage) machine that creates waves of pressure." He added: "Many top players have been going there for seven years, it has been successful and I believe it is safe. "It is good for specific injuries, doctors have explained the treatment and the components of the cream that is used. We are happy with it. "We checked it out when we became aware of the different players who had been there. I must admit we have been surprised with how well it has worked." Benitez admits that the success of the treatment will only be fully determined on how his players come through the physical strains of a competitive match, with City proposing a real threat at Anfield. "It means we have players available and training that we expected to be out for several weeks. Can we guarantee that they are fully fit? We will see, but they have trained with the rest of the team for three days and they are OK." Source: skysports.com  I've never heard of this before, but it seems to work miracles if Liverpool/Manchester City players have been injured and can train and play instantly after getting back from Serbia! we'll see how it works on Van Persie and if it shortens his recovery time, if it doesn't work it doesn't work no big deal but what has Van Persie got to lose?? |

Van Persie is open-minded and willing to try anything to trim his projected six-week lay-off but Wenger is not so sure. The Frenchman has seen some weird and wonderful ‘cures’ in his long career and is sticking his colours firmly to the mast of modern treatment. At his pre-match press conference on Friday, Wenger explained why he is not a fan of outlandish alternatives. “When you have, for example, a muscle problem, it's 21 days [out],” he said. “I've never seen anybody shorter. “I have seen so many people sent there and in five days they can play. But they can only play with injections and then they have a recurrence of a muscle injury always. “You cannot shorten it [the recovery period]. The intensity of the treatment can help and sometimes you can speed it up a little but there are some problems. A damaged ankle ligament takes four weeks.” That said, Wenger is happy to let Van Persie supplement his usual treatment with a more experimental approach. The Arsenal manager certainly does not object to placenta treatment on ethical grounds. “It's not injected,” he said. “I leave that responsibility to my medical people. I ask is there any danger to do it, they say no, I say OK let’s let him go and that's it. “I heard of it [this form of treatment] for the first time when Van Persie called me and explained the situation to me and wanted to go. “I didn’t give it too much importance. It's sometimes physiologically for the player to feel that it can help. We have all been in a situation we cannot get rid of: somebody gives you advice - 'go here, go there' – and at the end of the day if the traditional treatment cannot help you, go somewhere else. “When you travel a lot you see Asian treatment, African treatment, European treatment. It's all different.” |

Maybe but if the modern doctors/medicine rules you out injured for 3-4-5-6 weeks with a injury and you get treated with this revolutionary Horse Placenta and you are suddenly back playing football in 1-week, most modern footballers will have the Horse Placenta I think?? |
