Wellington Phoenix 2-2 Adelaide United

Good game man, it was 0-0 at the half and the second half was all action. We scored (Felipe), Adelaide levelled about 4 minutes later (Diego). Then they pulled ahead through Djite (The bastards!...Just kidding Mims! Hahaha) and Shane Smeltz equalised with a header he seemed to know nothing about until it hit him. Oh and there was a goal-line clearance that may or may not have crossed the line, the replays at the stadium were inconclusive. Anyway ja good game, the stadium (this is Westpac Stadium by the way, us locals are just lazy and call it the stadium) was buzzing again, which is great. And we got the news that the Becks and the LA Galaxy are going to be playing here against our boys on December 2nd, with season pass holders given priority purchasing rights, so that should be EPIC! We've also got an international (NZ - Vanuatu) on Oct 17th here, so Wellington is really becoming football capital of New Zealand (about bloody time!).

Yeah the Pheonix were unlcuky yesterday. I smashed them at the TAB so I was dissapointed. They never should of lost that. Felipe is an absolute genious. Himself and Daniel seem to play by themselves sometimes. The Pheonix are a very exciting team to watch. I haven't missed a game from them this season. They will hopefully get a bit more luck in the coming weeks but I hope it isn't next week because you guys are playing Perth haha. There is five teams on five points at the moment so the league is extremely even. Depending on the Central Coast vs Perth game today, Wellington should be equal third at the end of round five which is great. I'm glad New Zealand are getting behind the A-League it is great to see. Beckham and LA are coming over in december your right, Fred also plays for LA so it will be interesting to see him back too. He was my favourite player of A-League version two. All of the matches so far this round have been so entertaining which is great. Probably the best round of the season so far. Hopefully todays match lives up to what has preceded it.

The Sydney vs Roar game was shite. ::lol:: Apart from Australia vs Canada in the womens WC I think it was that was on this week I don't think I've ever watched a shittier game.

Anyways...that is all. ::lol::

Hahahahaha Awww. ::lol::
You shouldn't say that! lmao I am thinking about taking next school year in Australia or England so it's like
Australian accent VS English accent
Australian weather VS Manchester United
Australian football VS English football.
 ::lol:: haha

Might seem harsh but its true. :-\ Eh I don't care much for Australian football to be honest. I'd be coming to Australia for that year for all the reasons but the football. ::lol:: it's shite. But you can watch English football here. It's not that hard to do. ::lol::

I sure do support the mighty mighty Phoenix! I've got a season pass and all that jazz. And yeah I am, I already have my ticket, got it last Monday. Good times. One of the perks of being a member is we are able to buy them before the general public, I'm not sure when they go on sale normally. I've already sorted out the stalking side of it, I've got the mad hook-ups and am going to get inside info on when they are due to get to the Welly airport. I don't even like Becks all that much since he's not at Man U anymore, but it would be cool to meet such a legend of the game. Though realistically he probably won't even stop, he'll be bundled through by beefy security men or something.

I know this is late but...YUSSS! 4-1 win against Perth! Booyah! Was a great game to be at, AND then afterwards who should be casually walking down Courtney Place towards the Establishment (Where they have the after match function, we had just left there seconds before) but Daniel! I shook his hand long time. Great accent hahaha.

In the A-League's second season, Melbourne Victory were absolutely unstopabble, finishing as minor premiers and winning the grand final in emphatic fashion, 6-0 against a dismall Adelaide United side with Zippy striker Archie Thompson scoring five goals.

What a sad, sad day that was. >:( We'll never live that match down, Melbourne will never let that happen. ::lol::

It is held very close to my heart because Australia has never been a country that has embraced the sport whole heartedly or gained interest from overseas.

Which I find completely ridiculous because during the FIFA World Cup soccer fever is EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE watches the soccer, despite it being on at the ridiculous hours of the morning. But apart from the occasional match on SBS, nothing is on free to air TV. I don't understand WHY we don't see more soccer on Australian TV and in Australia in general when so many people like it! :-\ So stupid.

I don't follow the A-League as closely as the EPL but if I knew more about it, I'd follow it more closely.

I agree...I don't really like Becks since he left Man U...Well altogether I think he's a bit stupid...But I still really wanna meet him too!! Im not going to the game tho...I just dont reckon it will be that great...cos LA Galaxy will completely thrash the Phoenix...and the game is kinda just based on Beckham...so I can't really be bothered...plus tix are pretty expensive...and I'm currently saving to go to Manchester...so that I can go to a couple of Man U games...:P So I'd kinda rather go there lol

Lucky that you got to meet Daniel!! He's my fave player!! Would you agree with me that Ross Aloisi looks like Irene Van Dyck...you know...the netballer?? lol

My mate that I go to the games with is a huge Becks fan. He's got some serious man love for him. I on the other hand, am much cooler and don't like Becks. I mean, I respect him for being a Man U boy back in the day, and he's pretty sweet at set piece plays and such, but these days? Nah, he's just Posh's man servant. I still want the bragging rights to say 'Chuh, well I've met David Beckham so...jog on!' However, I still think it will be hella enjoyable. I got my ticket for 45 bucks anyway, sweet deal. I've never been to a sold-out stadium so the atmosphere should be epic even if the Phoenix get seven shades of shit kicked out of them.

Heeeey me too! Saving my cash I mean. I have a year left at uni and then if it all goes to plan, I will take the British Nursing Exam and do my new graduate work over there, either London or Manchester. So end of next year and I will be free of the Southern Hemisphere. I'm already planning the Old Trafford pilgrimmage, and the one to Allianz Arena.

Yeah Daniel's one of my favourites, I love his creativity, not so much how easy he goes to ground but Pretty Ricky is working on that. Haha nah I've never noticed, random.

Im going to Manchester next year!! Im still at college lol but me and my mum are saving up to go to London, Manchester and Paris!! lol My friend was telling me about how she's going back to England for a while and she was like oh you should come with me! So now I'm going with her and then I'm guna go up to Manchester!! Tix are gonna be soooo hard to get tho!!

45 bux??!!! Shit thats cheap!! I was researching...and they are like 80-100 bux :O for us normal people...lol!!  I was watching a thing about them on the news today...and apparently 16,000 tix had already been sold before they came out... I'm guessing that was all the members and stuff...and as soon as ticketek opened, within the first hour 2,00 tix were sold!! So I'm guessing it will be packed!!

I reckon Ross Aloisi looks like Irene Van Dyck around the eyes! Hahahah its quite funny really! I usually just call him Irene!

Lets just hope for you Kiwi's sake that Mr David Beckham is doesn't get injured and won't be able to play. I think he will only play about 15 minutes at the end of the match anyway seeing as it's just a friendly game. That is really unfortunate for the people who go to the game just to see him but he is wrapped up in cotton wool that much it's not even funny.

I have never understood the big hype around Beckham as all he can do is hit a dead ball and whip perfect crosses in all day (only with one foot by the way). He's a good player but he's nothing very special. Maybe because I'm not female I don't understand the big attraction about him haha.

Oh god!! I completely agree with you on that one!!  ;D

He's pretty boring really!! And all that Posh Spice business has...i dunno...well she's got him wrapped around her pinky!! lol

Strictly speaking he's meant to play at least 50 minutes!! And I was talking to my mates about it...and we were all like it'll be a shit game if he gets injured!! lol

He's a bit overrated really!!  :o

If he doesn't play we all get our money back because they won't play the game, which is good to know. And yeah iHeartCR is right, he is contracted to play a certain amount of minutes so we won't get ripped off. So it's all good really. Haha yeah I agree he really is treated like that, how demasculating.

I think he had his moments. Mostly in the mighty red shirt of Man U, such as that goal from halfway at the start of the 96/97 season. That was pretty mint. However, I've never been a huuuuge fan of his. I liked him when he was with us, until his personal life started to eclipse his football. Then he moved to Madrid and I just stopped caring. I still have a shirt though (I was given it haha, I didn't choose to get his name and number on the back) that I'm going to try and get signed. I respect what he did whilst playing for us in that period. And you don't have to be female to see the attraction, I certainly never thought he was stud hahaha. Especially once he opens his mouth. He sound so uneducated it hurts me on the inside.

I concur mate, he is fully overrated!

But despite all of my misgivings, I really think it will be a good spectacle, the atmosphere will be fantastic (It always is, my season pass is right next to Yellow Fever so we're always singing) and 2 Phoenix games in 24 hours is going to be AWESOME!

You really do need to come to more games. They are so much fun! I can't wait to take on Central Coast this Sunday. Even if we lose, it's still fun to be there. Better to have a win though, obviously hahaha. You should get a sexy Phoenix scarf, I hear all the cool kids have one. Like me :D Hahaha. But that's cool you're coming to the Adelaide game on the 30th of November, it's going to be almost packed too since heaps of peeps have one ticket that gets them into both games that weekend. Good times for sure!
