Gossip Girl
« on: 22 September 2007, 17:02:58 »
I wanted to make this thread a while ago but only founded the time right now.

Anyone seen the premiere episode of Gossip Girl?
I LOVE it.

For the ones who don't know it:

"Gossip Girl is an upcoming American television teen drama created by Josh Schwartz, creator of The O.C., and Stephanie Savage, who also serve as executive producers alongside Bob Levy and Leslie Morgenstein. Mark Piznarski directed the pilot.
Produced by CBS Paramount Network Television, Warner Bros. Television, College Hill Productions and Alloy Entertainment, the series is currently scheduled to air on Wednesday nights on 9:00/8:00c in the fall of 2007, following America's Next Top Model.
The show will also air on CTV, Channel Nine/Foxtel and ITV2 in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom respectively.

Based upon the novel series by Cecily von Ziegesar of the same name, Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York's Upper East Side who attend the most elite of education institutions while dealing with sex, drugs, and other teenage issues.
Featuring an ensemble cast, the series mainly centers around the lives of best friends, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and their shared romantic interest, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).
As outsiders looking in, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) do not run in the same social or financial circles as their peers but are nonetheless drawn into their lives as well.

Synopsis:
The series follow a group of socialite teenagers who live in the glamourous and sophisticated Upper East Side of New York City. These rich teenagers live the high life - they shop, party and drink.
But like all teenagers, they deal with sex, drugs and problems with their friendships and relationships. The narrator, is an Unseen character who runs a blog about the lives of these teenagers, and is always on the lookout for the scoop on everything and everyone."

It premiered in the USA this week. And the makers of 'The O.C.' are the brain behind this serie ;)

Yup... I saw it too! Thought I was gonna be alone. But did you read the books. The show all twisted up. I was kind of disappointed.

-Erik is suicidal and like 14 years old and I'm sure he's going to have a crush on Jenny
-Nate's father wants him to stay with Blair for business
-Chuck and Nate aren't even friends in the book.
-I'm sure Vanessa will not be there.

I don't want to become what the O.C became. BORING. I'm praying Schwartz changed his game for this show.

Thanks for the songs! :D

I love the books, I've been reading them for five years or so now and I thought the whole bitchiness and beauty theme of them was great. But the television show totally changed them! Like, DRASTIC changes. I couldn't believe it. And Dan isn't hot! I always thought he'd be well fit from the books, but he's not in the films.

I don't understand why they had to change them. It totally worked they way it was laid out in the books.
