Ujfalusi Agrees Move To Juve?

According to confidential sources, Tomas Ujfalusi has come to a verbal agreement with Juventus to sign for them this summer.

The Czech international?s contract with the Viola runs out at the end of the season and he is almost certain to leave on free transfer having refused to sign an extension

Sevilla had seemed like hot favourites to snap up the 29-year-old in January but the move fell through.

Most recently though it had appeared that Atletico Madrid were the player?s most likely destination.

However now, confidential sources in Italy are suggesting that Ujfalusi has come to a verbal agreement with Juventus to sign for them.

The towering stopper, who can play at centre back or right back would be Juve?s second free transfer capture, with Olof Mellberg already being snapped up from Aston Villa.

Ujfalusi signed for Fiorentina from Hamburg in 2004 and has since gone on to make more than 100 appearances for the club.

He has also won 64 caps for the Czech Republic national team and he played for them at Euro 2004, where they reached the semi-final, and the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where they were dumped out in the group stages. He is set to feature at this summer?s Euros in Austria and Switzerland.

The soap-opera that is Amauri?s proposed move to Turin continues to wrangle on, as there are two major sticking points in negotiations.

First of all Amauri is demanding ?3.75m a season in wages, but the Juventus management are refusing to pay him more than ?3m.

This has opened up the possibility that the Brazilian will move to Milan instead, with the Diavoli more than happy to meet these salary demands.

The second problem revolves around the players that Palermo will be receiving from Juve as part of the Amauri exchange.

The inclusion of Antonio Nocerino and Davide Lanzafame is already agreed upon, but Palermo transfer chief Rino Foschi is refusing to close the deal until Sebastian Giovinco is added too in a co-ownership deal.

Latest reports in Italy suggest that the Bianconeri are ready to accept this offer in a bid to complete negotiations.

Giovinco is widely regarded as one of the best young talents currently in circulation, and earlier this week Milan wonderkid Alexandre Pato described the fantasista as one of the top four players in world football.

 :o NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! >:(

Keep Giovinco and Lanzafame, who needs that idiot Amauri?

Blog: Italy?s most unwanted

Juventus and Atalanta fans have vetoed moves for Dejan Stankovic and Christian Vieri, a stance James Horncastle supports
Followers of Juventus and Atalanta have expressed their unease at the Bianconeri and Nerazzurri?s respective interest in Dejan Stankovic and Christian Vieri. But should clubs be allowed to sign whoever they like regardless of their supporters? reservations?

Two signs have recently been placed just outside the cities of Turin and Bergamo warning Dejan Stankovic and Christian Vieri they are not welcome and should think again before signing for Juventus and Atalanta. Why? Because the clubs? fans consider them unfit to honour the badge and wear the shirt, which it adorns, for the simple reason that the two players have in the past been disrespectful towards the Bianconeri and Nerazzurri.

At first glance, the Ultras? protests against the transfers appear narrow minded, a trifle flippant perhaps and detrimental to their clubs. But their dissent, far from being frivolous, reflects a battle for the soul of the game, which is under threat of extinction by corporate and private interests who are increasingly hard of hearing when faced with supporters? grievances.

The case against Stankovic is as illustrative as any. Here is a player who signed a contract with Juventus in 2004 only to leap into the arms of Inter after President Massimo Moratti offered him more money. Here is also a man who never misses an opportunity to bring up Calciopoli and drag Juventus? name through the mud, a man who has revelled in the Bianconeri?s misfortunes, singing ?we win without stealing? when Inter finally clinched Lo Scudetto in 2006.

Is it any wonder Juventus? fans don?t want him at the club? I suppose many of them would accept that the Bianconeri could do with a player like Stankovic ? linking the midfield with the attack ? but not the person. If his name appeared on the back of a Juventus shirt, it would make a mockery of it.

When fans and their say in a club?s actions are increasingly under threat from detached for-profit owners, all too willing to hold values hostage to fortune, I think the Ultras should be commended for their stance and belief that football is not just about winning matches, but something much more profound.

Juve to steal Knezevic
Monday 30 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Livorno?s Croatian defender Dario Knezevic is ready to snub Torino to join Juventus, and Granata chief Urbano Cairo is livid.

Knezevic has unexpectedly become the centre of a Turin tug-of-war as he looks to leave newly relegated Livorno.

Torino seemed to have agreed a permanent deal for the 26-year-old, but city rivals Juve have hijacked the deal and agreed a loan deal, according to Press reports.

According to La Stampa, the Old Lady reached an agreement late last night that sees Knezevic join for a season with £500,000 going to Livorno and the Bianconeri having the option to make the deal permanent for £1m next summer.

However, Toro supremo Cairo still insists that his initial deal with the Amaranto is binding.

?Livorno?s President Aldo Spinelli had a deal with me and I will be declaring it to the Lega Calcio,? he roared. ?We will see what happens.

?I spoke to Spinelli last night and I thought that he had a strange air about him, but he reassured me.

?You can?t sell the same player twice. If I did that with a house I would be reported for fraud.?

Knezevic is expected to undergo a medical with Juve later today and could be presented as a Bianconero tomorrow, unless Cairo derails the transfer.

It's official: Knezevic is a Juve player.

Giovinco gets Juve call
Thursday 26 June, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As expected, Azzurrini talent Sebastian Giovinco has officially left Empoli to return to Juventus.

The 21-year-old, who was the star of the recent Toulon Tournament, spent last term with the Tuscan minnows and managed to shine in spite of their relegation.

Giovinco scored his first Serie A goal against Palermo last September and a curling free-kick which stole a point from Roma in November grabbed the headlines.

Many see Giovinco as the heir to Alessandro Del Piero?s legacy in Turin and it came as little surprise when the Old Lady announced they would be bringing him back to base last month.

The paperwork is now officially complete and the tiny playmaker is assured the chance to fight for a Bianconeri shirt.

Chiellini commits to Old Lady
Thursday 26 June, 2008

Giorgio Chiellini has renewed his contract with Juventus and set his sights on the captain?s armband.

After enjoying a revelatory 2007-08 campaign with the Old Lady, Chiellini was one of few Italy players to emerge from Euro 2008 with plaudits.

And the Turin giants have shown their faith in the Pisa native by offering him a contact extension that will tie him to the club until 2013.

?My hope is that I will be able to be Juventus captain,? Chiellini enthused.

?At the moment there is Alessandro Del Piero and after him Gigi Buffon. As long as Gigi is playing he will be captain, but in the future it would be a great pleasure to follow him.?

Chiellini was nearly sold to Manchester City last summer, but he demonstrated his importance to the Bianconeri when he took advantage of an injury crisis caused by the serious blow to Jorge Andrade.

?I showed that I deserve an important role for this team,? he said. ?I want to thank the club, Claudio Ranieri and my teammates for all the help I have received.

?Negotiations for a renewal of my contract have been going on since the winter. We had a basic agreement, but we wanted to meet after the European Championship.

?It was a year to remember, but what happened to the national side was a shame. I would have preferred to be in Vienna right now and I thought we could win Euro 2008.

?It was an almost perfect season, but for me it is something to build on. Now the Champions League is something to look forward to.?

With the arrival of Swedish stopper Olof Mellberg and the possible signature of Dario Knezevic, there will be more competition for places in Juve?s defence next term.

?We will be playing so many games that there will be space for everyone,? Chiellini claimed.

?Mellberg is an experienced defender and will give us a real hand. The important thing is to have a big squad available and then whoever is in form can play.

?I can still improve in so many ways, especially in terms of speed and marking and the relationship with the other defenders is also important.

?I think that I have done well in taking my chances for Juve and Italy,? he continued.

?You need a little fortune and I have helped things by being able to change positions ? I can play in the middle or as a wing-back.

?I don?t want to choose between the League and the Champions League for next season because I?m hoping we can go far in both.?

All good news. Juve is building a strong team for next season.

Veloso is halfway to Juve

Tuesday 1 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Highly rated Portuguese midfielder Miguel Veloso is ?50 per cent Juventus?, according to his agent.

Veloso has turned heads in Europe while playing for Sporting Lisbon and was on Milan?s radar before Juve overtook them in the race for his services.

At the age of 22, the talented holding player could be the man to toughen up the Old Lady?s lightweight midfield and as Liverpool?s Xabi Alonso continues to procrastinate, the Turin giants could turn their focus to Veloso.

?Juventus are interested in him, but he still has four years on his contract with Sporting Lisbon,? agent Paulo Barbosa explained.

?There are also potential suitors in Spain and England, but I?d say there?s a 50 per cent chance that he?ll join Juve.?

Reports in Portugal suggest that Sporting value Veloso at around £15m but that Juventus are planning to offer £12m plus midfield misfit Tiago Mendes.

Out: Lanzafame, Volpato, Birindelli, Stendardo, Nocerino

I wish they'd sell MOLINARO! Not Lanzafame...that's just another stupid Secco decision, just like trying to sell Chiellini off to Manchester City and loaning Criscito to Genoa when you're already short in defenders...

By the way, is Criscito coming back?

Juve Bid For Totti?s ?Best? Friend

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are preparing a bid for Sevilla?s controversial midfielder Christian Poulsen, infamous in Italy following his clash with Francesco Totti at Euro 2004.

Juve are well known to be in the market for a centre midfielder this summer, but despite pouring their efforts into a host of targets, including Xabi Alonso, Alberto Aquilani, Dejan Stankovic and Marek Hamsik, they have so far been unable to snap anyone up.

The Bianconeri have now turned their attentions to Sevilla?s Christian Poulsen. The Danish schemer has a minimum fee release clause of ?10m, and according to the Gazzetta, transfer director Alessio Secco is due to hold a meeting with the player?s agent today.

The Juve hierarchy, including coach Claudio Ranieri, have all given their go-ahead to make an offer for the 28-year-old, and a three-year contract worth ?2.5m per season has been drawn up.

Poulsen is something of an infamous figure in Italy, all dating back to his clash with Francesco Totti in the group game between Italy and Denmark at Euro 2004. Following the match, television pictures showed Poulsen being spat on by Totti, who received a three-match ban and gave a "full public apology", while also claiming that he was provoked by Poulsen.

The next year in the Champions League, while playing with Schalke, Poulsen was also involved in a furore with AC Milan, with Carlo Ancelotti labelling the midfielder a ?coward? for his rough man-marking of Kaka. During the group tie at San Siro, which Milan won 3-2, hardman Rino Gattuso angrily taunted and gloated in the face of Poulsen at the final whistle.

Were Poulsen to move to Serie A, it would certainly make for some interesting drama, particularly when Juve play Milan and Roma.

Chiellini: I called Aquilani
Wednesday 2 July, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giorgio Chiellini has revealed that he urged Roma midfield ace Alberto Aquilani to join him at Juventus.

Juve are currently looking for a new midfielder after last summer?s additions Sergio Almiron and Tiago Mendes failed to make an impression.

Giallorossi and Azzurri star Aquilani was one of the Old Lady?s targets, but a move seems out of the question, much to Chiellini?s disappointment.

?I have been playing alongside Alberto in Italy?s youth sides since we were 15 and our parents are very close friends,? the Bianconeri defender said on Sky Sport Italia.

?We have always spoken regularly and I have constantly been telling him to come to Turin.

?I told him about how great this city is and said that the choice was left to him, but the situation isn?t simple because he grew up at Roma and he is strongly tied to that club.?

Juve now look likely to redouble their attempts to land Liverpool?s Xabi Alonso and could move for Inter man Dejan Stankovic, in spite of protests from the fans.

?There are no doubts about Alonso,? Chiellini stated. ?He has proven himself year after year for Liverpool.

?He is a great player and he could help us. We need a great champion to help us fight Milan, Inter and Roma, but there are other names.

?Stankovic? It?s only natural that he wouldn?t be that popular here after playing for Inter for so many years,? Chiellini continued.

?However, a player of that type can win over the supporters after a few games.

?I don?t know what decision the club will make, but the fans can rest assured that if he came he would give his all to cancel out the memories of him in an Inter shirt.?
