Lionel Andres Messi
« on: 27 July 2006, 09:28:22 »
Leo Messi
Born: June 24, 1987
Age: 19
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Former Clubs: Barcelona B
Current Club: FC Barcelona
Jersey Number: 30
National Team: Argentina
Status: Single

I love this kid! He's not like ultra hot but he's really cute and adorable. For him to be playing at Barcelona at such a young age must mean he has a lot of talent. Plus, he looks like one of those players who gets fouled a lot yet gets up and continues on without complaining or anything-- a very hot characteristic imo

Messi is an amazing footballer, more than amazing
his talent is just incredible and I love to see him play
I really think that he can become one of the greatest footballers if he keeps up
Hé's already one of the best footballers of this moment if you don't include the injury's and everything

aww i felt kinda bad for him when i read this

Messi says he switched off after Argentina World Cup exit

BUENOS AIRES, July 27 (Reuters) - Argentina forward Lionel Messi said on Thursday he could not face watching the rest of the World Cup after his team went out in the quarter-finals to hosts Germany on penalties.

"After we lost to Germany, I didn't watch any more World Cup games," he told Argentine television. "I didn't know about anything that was going on."

"The final? I didn't watch it."

The speedy teenager was surprisingly left on the bench for the Germany game by coach Jose Pekerman and did not even come on as a substitute when the German defence was flagging. Argentina lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

"You'll have to ask Pekerman why I didn't get to play more," he said. "There were 23 very good players."

But Messi said he did not bear a grudge against Pekerman, who resigned following the tournament.

"I had no problem with Pekerman, he took me to the World Cup and gave me my debut. He's a very good coach, he's very good at leading a group. I wouldn't be unhappy if he continued."

Messi said the 2006 World Cup was overall a positive experience for him.

"I played my first World Cup, I made my debut at the age of 18. On the personal side, that was positive.

"It was a strange World Cup in which the best teams got knocked out. Argentina were eliminated when we were playing the best football."

i think it's bc Argentina's goalie was injured, so they had to use up a substitute and that's where it got all messed up

Messi amazes me. I could watch him play football for hours hes so entertaining. I cant belive hes so young. His football is so far above his age. Its so mature you'd think hes been around for years.

i agree. i think it's his maturity at such a young age that makes him a good player as well as really hot.
what i love about the barcelona squad is the fact that they try to celebrate every goal and that's what they did for leo's first barcelona goal
